Thanks everyone! Claire gets lots of nice compliments on her hair. It is a beautiful colour, but a nightmare to brush sometimes! :) I had so much fun doing the cake. :) I forgot to post a picture of all of them! Silly me. Evelyn is growing some hair. Huzzah! And that "third eye" on her forehead is a forehead meets sidewalk injury. Yikes! Danielle

Resurrecting this old post because my phone can't find the other post: What's the status of your Wayside rose purchases? ALL I BOUGHT HAVE A SLIGHT MYRRH SCENT Tranquility, bushy, around 2.5 to 3 inches (three flushes but only 10 blooms or so all together) Claire Austin, starts as pale yellow and gets close to white, not as many petals, upright growth but then bloom flops, 3 inches (one flush just a week ago, 4 blooms I think?) Queen of Sweden, precious pink but don't have pics on this phone, upright bloom but takes forever to show any growth, 2 to 2.5 inches, pretty upright bush (one flush so far, about 6 blooms?) THE Pilgrim pretty pale yellow pompom, plant is growing arms is maybe trying to be a climber? 2 inches, tons of petals but bud and full bloom within a day, last photo as color contrast with Heirloom Rose's Happy Child bright yellow (first flush just yesterday 5 expected blooms) Overall --- not sure my Claire Austin will be good as of now only three main canes, several main canes were damaged and had canker, severe die back Tranquility is a quality rose and a winner for me Queen of Sweden and Pilgrim have weird growth habit, jury is still out LOOKING FORWARD TO OTHERS PICS AND OPINIONS ON THEIR PURCHASES!

What do you think he meant by "soon"?? I don't know that they ever offer new varieties in the middle of winter so I'd say that "soon" means next season, what do you think? As far as what to expect to be new varieties, hopefully exotics, the sky is the limit!! For the past several years they had been offering some real gems. Maybe some of those will be returned to the offerings. Merengue, Santos, Rosario, Cirque de Soleil Cyberspace, Kahlua, Octopussy, Tiramisu and countless others also!! We'll just all have to have patience....☺☺

Your Desdemona was mislabelled?! What is she then?! Now I feel great I didn't go get your Margareta yesterday, even though it was very tempting :-) I don't think I saw Golden Celebration at Dearborn. They have the poet's wife, Graham Thomas, and a couple of TGs in the yellow hue. Baker nursery was closed for good (bad). In my failing attempt to find Jude the Obscure several weeks ago, I drove to the address listed for Corner Copia Farm Market , but ended up in a field. I then called and was told they weren't there for four years! I went to Williams Nursery in Westfield last Thursday, and found they only had three or four pots left. They also raised their price to $49. I was so disappointed that I didn't pay attention to the names. You may call them and ask. They do pick up their phone and check stock for you based on color. Good luck! PS. I am new to gardening too. but I think you should be able to plant one rose for now. I planted TG on one side of my trellis, with Eden on another. Now I wish I had put a clematis on the other side or even morning glory, as Clematis will grow faster so I don't have to wait several years for my trellis to be filled.
