The big picture (or, reflections after two Passover seders)

Our kitchen still isn't quite finished. The tile backsplash isn't in, molding isn't painted, etc. But in the last week we've cooked over 125 meals in it already in conjunction with the Passover holiday and visiting family. We hosted 20 people for a seder on Monday night and 15 people on Tuesday night and baked a birthday cake.

We could not have done this in our old kitchen. We did not have enough space to store the food, enough room for the cooks needed to cook the food, a dishwasher that was quiet enough, or good enough flow to accommodate 7-8 kids running around before, during, and after the meals.

Yes, the cabinets and countertops are beautiful. We love our marble topped work table and pot rack with copper pots. But at the end of the day, this kitchen, still not finished, has brought me so much joy because it allows us to have the type of home and life we want to live. One filled with family, friends, traditions, and really good food.

You guys kept saying it's worth it and now I finally agree.
