Need moral support on two big mistakes- dh frustrated

Ok- background: my fifth kitchen remodel, but first where I am acting as a general contractor, and first that required plumbing, electrical and hvac on top of everything else. Also the first where we are putting in cabinets (ikea with custom doors) Needless to say- I am completely out of my element and making a bazzilion decisions a day. .

First mistake- I had my electricians come out and move all my electrical to make space for my two 80- inch wide windows. Did you read that? 80-inch wide. After 3 days of work, window installer arrives with 8-foot windows. For those of you who are crappy at math (I just had the wrong measurement written down, not bad math) 8 feet = 96 inches, not 80. So guess who had to come back? Electrician. To the tune of $500.

Then today, I made my first purchase from a specialty lumberyard. After 3 trips in to tell them exactly the pieces off walnut I need for fillers, toe kicks, etc, the really helpful guy running the saw grabs my paper with my thousand notes, circles the final calculations, and assures me that he will get it all for me. When I return 2- hours later to pick it up, it is about $600 more than I thought it would be, and the pile is a lot bigger than I expected. When I question the price, they start spouting off about board feet and split ratios. And the receipt says nothing but a final amount. So while I am rearranging my kids in the car, they load this pile of wood in and send me off. I get about halfway home when I manage to do the calculation in my head. Turns out they gave me 306 feet of beautiful walnut when I asked for 306 inches. A normal person would tell- right. Not a frazzled mom who has no clue what she is doing. I called them from the car and explained, and they said bring it back in tomorrow. But Dh is incredulous and annoyed that I keep making these mistakes. I just hope they take it back.

I am feeling so down about this, I'm not even enjoying the first prices of the pretty stuff (the wood). Please tell me I'm not alone and I will make it through.
