Avon used to sell a soft one....not sure if they still do or not.

I used to use the Avon ones, they're called "glimmersticks", Mary Kay has a similar one called "Signature brow liner", both this one and the Avon one are soft, and they roll out like lipstick and don't have to be sharpened. I'm sure there are many other brands of this type out there, these are just the two I'm familiar with.

I'm not losing my eyebrows (yet!), but mine are very light, I have found that brown eye shadow works better for coloring my eyebrows than anything I've used before. I use the applicator that comes with the eye shadow, just dab a little on the applicator and go over my eyebrows, quick and easy!

It was me who posted about it. I find the pencils too harsh too, but the eye brow powder and stiff brush work very well...just doesn't stay on long. I need to find something natural looking and long lasting. So I'm still on the hunt for it! I get the Bare ecentuals one from ebay. Great product, but like I said it doesn't stay on long.

Some beauty supply stores sell eyebrow stencils. Women with no eyebrows seem to love them. I have to attend cosmotology seminars to keep up my licence from 28 years ago. We had a chance to try the brow stencils out, where many stylists said they gave them to older family members who have trouble shaping their brows. I love finding these fun things.

Marilyn, go to Google and type in Models Prefer eyebrow pencil and you will find places where you can order them. On your recommendation, I ordered one from Amazon, but it looked like the only one they had. I, too, have very thin eyebows from plucking them too much when younger.

Marilyn, my mother in law had very faint eye brows. She had them tweezed all the time, and painted them on. Then, she got tired of it, and had her eyebrows and her lips tattooed. Here she is, with me, on my 50th birthday photo shoot.

Just never have a face lift after such a tattoo. See her right brow higher? That's what happened. :)

How about a eye liner pencil. They are of a softer substance I think. When I get my hair colored, I have my niece, dab the color on my brows too.

Can't remember her name but there is a woman makeup artist that is very famous for doing brows and she uses the stencil...and a brush with powder...I think you could set them with a litte hair spray.

You can buy a kit to dye eyebrows at the beauty supply. Even at that, I still use eyeshadow and a very stiff brush to fill in the brows. I used to have such thick brows, like Brooke Shields, but then when I was young I plucked them too much and did not realize that what looked great close up in the mirror was too skimpy seen from across the room.

My mom had her tattooed also and they look great.

I use powdered eyebrow color with a brush and I think it looks so much better than pencils ever do. I am currently using the Bare Escentuals eyebrow powder ut have been happy with Smashbox also. Both available at Sephora and probably Ulta.

Revlon has an eyebrow pencil that is half pencil and half eyebrow mascara. The pencil is fairly soft. First you add some pencil to your own eyebrows and then go over it with the eyebrow mascara. The mascara doesn't come out too thick and it's not clumpy, but it sticks to any little stray eyebrow hair you have, making your brows appear fuller. It also smooths down any wiry hairs and keeps them inline with the rest. I really like it.

I do use the powder and set it with a little hairspray, it helps, but I'd like to find something that lasts all day without hairspray.

So...I see Im not the only one using eye-shadow on eyebrows. I think softer looks so much more natural.

Marilyn_FL I sent for the pencil you were talking about and received it today and like the way it looks very much. It wasn't cheap by the time they added the postage, but they come two in a package, so hopefully they will last for awhile. I really don't need to do my eyebrows every day,since I don't go that much, although it is nice to look in the mirror and see eyebrows!
