Adam was by far the best out of the bunch. Allison was good, although, I didn't really care for the song she picked.

Danny and Chris totally ruined all the songs they sang, especially the Styx song, totally horrible. Danny singing
"Dream On" was beyond bad.

I think it's time for Danny to go. Haven't really cared for his singing sing the auditions.

I liked the duets ok but I really didn't like the rest of the show. Hard rock is not my "thing". Danny was awful.

Came to this website looking for updated info on the latest appliances and thought I'd check in with this thread. I'm glad I did. DISASSEMBLY My sleeper sofa (see posts above) had to be disassembled too. When I first ordered there was plenty of room for delivery, but during remodeling I decided to put in a door that was normal-sized (too narrow for the sofa). It wasn't hard to put the unit back together again on the other side, but it's more complicated than just screwing the legs back on. So I'd suggest you make sure the delivery people (or friends of yours) know what they're doing. Then it would be fine. It's not brain surgery, but it's not like playing with TinkerToys either. You're buying a relatively sophisticated mechanism, as well as something that looks good. So it makes sense to respect what you've paid for. You wouldn't let just anybody install a dishwasher, for example. But thousands of them get installed properly every day. AMERICAN LEATHER CUSTOMER SERVICE I would buy American Leather again, even after my nightmare. I accept that things will go wrong with a percentage of anything that's manufactured or delivered. My problem was with with my retailer, Foremost Furniture. At every step of the way they were careless. As in, they could not have cared less what happened once they had all their money. If you do not live in New York or the tri-state area, you cannot make this mistake. I believe AL pushed Foremost to fulfill their legal obligations in my case, thanks to this site. After I posted here, the situation was addressed. I could not get a refund--Foremost dragged this out for years, so the sofa was now officially "used"--but I got a store credit. That is not, IMHO, AL's fault. Foremost is a nightmare, so I warn anybody about their truly nasty management. But if you have a decent retailer (and do your research into their customer service record), I think AL is a very good value in every way. I love their stuff. I only come to this site when I am remodeling or need advice on purchases, so my purpose in posting is to clarify what I can and to be fair. I'm glad I didn't have to go the time and expense of taking legal action to solve my problem. It took years to address the problem; that's wrong. But once AL got involved, the problem was attended to in a reasonable time frame. And they only got involved because of this site and this thread. FWIW

PKponder: You described the behavior of White Pelicans as the prepare to start their migratory flight. That has got to be a sight to behold. Bird books mention that their migratory flight is disorganized with each bird acting as an individual, but I am wondering about their take-off procedure. I wonder if they are using the same technique as cranes. In the past 20 years, we are seeing more migrating sandhill cranes passing through. Unlike geese, their flight seems much more leisurely and playful untill it was explained to me what they were doing. Cranes will sail along and slowly drop altitude until they find a thermal. They will use this thermal as an elevator to gain altitude. The flock will fly into the thermal and circle in it while it shoots them upward. It looks like they are playing. They stay in the same location playing the thermal for all its worth before gliding off to the next thermal. Its a slow way to travel, but labor saving. That explains why they may prefer sunny afternoons to fly.

mike_home: I am not 20 any more and cannot get up in the attic, but I had my lawn guy (a friend) go up and inspect it a few months ago. He is a roofer and is much more familiar with ductwork than I am. He said it all looks good and could be good enough to last another 3-5 years. How does ductwork spring a leak? The connections from the ducts to the vents were all sealed last year. The AC man also went up there last month and said everything looked good. I appreciate your comments, though.

Yes, but I see that as a logical development of the ideal that had been in fashion since before the turn of the 20th century, bossyvossy. Recently, I was reading a book written in 1910 that talked about "preternaturally slim" models, and Colette wrote very early in her newspaper days about the "religion of hunger" followed by fashionable ladies. As more and more people managed to achieve it, they had to keep moving the goal posts, which is how we eventually wound up with heroin chic and pre-pubescent models.

Adam and Allison had the advantage tonight, IMO. They got to sing their solos first, then Danny and Kris sang their duet followed by their solos. Adam and Allison finished the show with their duet....which was rockin'!!! So, Adam and Allison started the show and finished it, too. Since they're both rockers at heart, it's not hard to see that they had the most impact.

I LOVE Adam.
I taped his performance and played it over and over again. He is the best singer Idol has ever had.
Led Zeplin brought back so many memories. That was the 60's and oh was that a wild ride. He sang better than the original artist.

I love Danny and Kris but I knew both of them would struggle last night, which they did. Adam is very good and frankly, I don't even know why he's in this competition. With his experience in theater, he must have come across someone that has recognized and offered to help push his career. At this point, I doubt that there is anyone that really doesn't believe that he is going to win this competition. As for me, I'm still voting for Danny, as I think he's a well rounded performer with a great attitude.

I agree with Ann. But, Adam is sure to win. Glad he was found, if that is the case.

Young Allison will go places too!

I love Danny and Kris, but they will be next to go.

I'm with you as well, Ann. And I did think it was great the way the judges acknowledged that both Danny and Chris were not afraid to step outside their comfort zones and perform in a genre they don't normally do. That is something Adam did not do.

I would really like to see Idol eliminate those that are professionals, or semiprofessionals. Surely they can develop some sort of ruling, it isn't fair to the others.

I thought Allison was great. I will admit Adam did very well with his songs and the duet with them was Rockin!

Time for Danny to go though.

No, no... Danny needs to stick around for awhile. He's never been in the bottom three.. so I think he has a big enough fan base to keep him in the competition for now. I think any of the other 3 could go. Not that they deserve it, they are all really good.. but somebody's gotta go. :-)

Adam was great, and he certainly was in the genre. He nailed last week too, outside of his genre. I must have voted 100+ times for Adam! I liked Allison too, and she's made great strides in the past few weeks. Their duet rocked.

I'm not sure if experience in musical theater would be considered professional/semiprofessional if it's not in major regional shows or Broadway. A lot of Adam's past performances on YouTube seem to be from local shows/benefits/cabarets. Besides, if most of his experience is in musical theater, he may not have had the right exposure to the right people to advance a broader singing career. Isn't that what AI is about?

Reading Lynn's post made me think of something that hadn't occurred to me until now. Although Kris and Danny were both out of their zones with the rock last night, they both gave it their best. Although I like Adam and have thought from the beginning that he would win, I now remember how he changed Ring of Fire from country to rock. So, I would have to say that Adam's not willing to step out of the box and try things that aren't easy for him. Anyone agree??? I think the reason the various music genres are required each week is to show how well rounded each contestant is.

The judges on AI tell the contestants week after week to figure out who they are and sing with that in mind. Adam is a rocker so he takes whatever he is given and applies himself.

With that said, Adam is quite versatile. Go to YouTube and do a search for Adam Lambert Brigadoon and you'll see he can do something other than rock. And he does it extremely well.

I think on AI Adam wants to market himself as a rocker, just like Chris Daughtry did a few seasons ago.
