"What do you do when you're working with stained wood instead of painted wood? It's not like you can stain the caulk???" One of the reasons stained woodwork costs more is the material is better than 'paint grade' and it takes more labor to install without gaps, nail heads showing(they need to be filled with matching putty), and joints not closing perfectly. The basic answer is no gaps. For minor gaps ypu can mix tinted hardwood floor filler and use it to fill minor defects. You can also purchase Mohawk filler sticks (tinted wax). They have enough colors you can usually get a decent match.

I have 3 of them.I have a floor one in the living room next to my recliner and i have 2 in my sewing room.I do/did a lot of cross stitch and i'm sure those of you familiar with that know you need good lighting.I also keep one by the sewing machine,and another at my cutting table.The small ones are handy if you go on trips or vacation.Just stick it in your bag. I buy my towels at Wal-mart! LOL Usually the W/M brand ones.I never pay more than $6.00 for a bath size towel.I never buy the towels with the little woven strip across the end.It always seems to shrink and the towels look out of shape.I have never had a problem with shedding or anything like that.I have W/M towels that I have had for years and they still look great.They are big and thick,not as big as the sheet kind but big enough.I don't wrap a towel around me anyway and prefer a smaller towel for drying.DH likes the bigger,sheet type so I bought him a couple of striped ones a few weeks ago that were on sale for $3.00 each.They are thick and large enough for him to wrap around himself. I can't see paying an outrageous price for a "name brand" that is no better quality in the long run than what you can get cheaper at W/M.

I've been experimenting with ways to preserve opened tubes of caulking/ sealants. The latest thing that I've tried is resealing the nozzle/ spout with a bit of aluminum foil tape--the tape that is used for sealing dryer ducts. Clean the nozzle and wrap a small strip of the tape (about an inch plus) around it and seal the tape to itself on the end past the nozzle. Appears to be working much better than anything else that I've tried. Bit of a bear to remove (scoring the tape along the side of the nozzle with a razor knife works best).
