Looking to punch-up the color
Comments (49)I just wanted to add that I absolutely love your furniture. They look like family antiques and are very unique. I do like the pop of red pillows you added. But with the risk of everyone coming down on me I really don't like that rug in that beautiful room. The colors are fine it just looks like it is a contemporary type of rug. Maybe I am wrong bc I can't see the pattern that well but it looks like squares. Everything else looks great!...See MoreFinal Days/Punch List - What should I be looking for?
Comments (5)Hey, that was my thread! ;-) The last-minute item on my list was to nail the toe kick on one of the cabinets in place. (The electrician had pulled it off to do some work down there, and then neither nailed it on himself nor informed the foreman that it needed to be done. I only noticed it by chance, and literally asked the foreman to do it the day he came to collect my final check.) Also - check if cabinet doors need adjusting. If you already checked, check again. ;-) Check if any of the cabinets need touch-up - little scratches and whatnot. (Mine had lots of whatnot from the big cabinet fiasco part of my reno, and I forgot to look closely enough. So now I have to figure out how to use the touch-up kit - it's trickier than it looks!)...See MoreLOOKING for: Pizza Dough
Comments (9)Beverly, I've had this recipe for 25 years - I got it from the mother of DH's best friend in high school! I guess she was considered the best pizza maker in the area and all the high school kids would go to her house for pizza. She said the recipe was from the back of a bag of flour. I still use this recipe - depending how I feel and how much time I have, sometimes I let it rise, sometimes make it right away.....also, I use my pizza stone and don't do the "cover with same size pan" thing. Quick, Easy & Good Pizza Dough 1 pkg active dry yeast 1 cup warm water 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 2 Tbsp oil 2 1/2 cups flour Dissolve yeast in warm water, stir in remaining ingredients, beat vigorously. Allow dough to rest (covered) 5 minutes. On lightly greased 12x15 pan, pat dough out with floured fingers to edge of pan. If you like a thick crust, cover with another pan of the same size turned upside down & let rise for an hour or two. If regular crust is desired, immediately spread sauce, cheese & toppings. Bake 425 15 minutes covered with same size of pan, then remove top pan and bake about 10 minutes more to brown the cheese. Cindy...See MoreLOOKING for: A Beginning Bread Maker: So Intimidated!
Comments (25)There isn't much that's easier than this recipe. The main thing beginning bread makers do is kill the yeast by using water that's too hot. WHITE BREAD (1 loaf) 1 1/4 cup warm water (baby bottle temperature) 1 pkg yeast 2 TBL butter or margarine 2 TBL sugar 2 tsp salt 3 cup flour (regular all-purpose is fine) Mix warm water & yeast in a large mixing bowl. Stir until dissolved. Add butter, sugar, salt & 2 cups flour. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed with mixer OR 300 vigorous strokes by hand, scraping sides & bottom of bowl frequently. Blend in remaining flour wiht spoon until smooth. Cover & let rise in a warm place for 2 hours or until dough doubles in size. Stir batter down. Spread evenly in a greased 9x5x3 loaf pan. Smooth loaf by flouring your hand & patting top into shape. Cover & let rise 2 hours or until doubled. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 45 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped.~~...See Morelovinlife2004
