I like sprouts...

But I'm just as happy with just lettuce...

I like the different kinds of greens they have to offer instead just a head of lettuce.
And onions, olives and cheese, is what I'd have if I had my "druthers"

I'll put pretty much anything on a salad

Some of my favorites (not necessarily all at once--LOL) are: fried rice noodles, dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, almonds, sunflower seeds, flax seed. I like to put a spoonful of cole slaw or bean salad on my salad sometimes. Hardcooked eggs. I like to put a mound of cheddar or blue cheese on a piece of parchment and nuke until the cheese melts and turns golden. When it cools, you have a crispy, toasted cheese circle that's delicious crumbled over your salad. Bacon, of course, is good. So are leftover cooked veg. Or rinsed black or kidney beans.

Then there's the dressing. Depends upon what I'm putting together, but I almost always have a choice of: 1000 Island, Italian, Raspberry vinaigrette, blue cheese, honey mustard, Vidalia onion--or anything else that sounds interesting.

Oooh...I love, love salads! Today I had one for lunch with mandarin oranges, raisins, walnuts,apple chunks, feta cheese, kidney beans, and garbanzo beans. I love to build salads....this was a good one today! I used fat free Catalina dressing too and the new crispy onion toppers by fresh gourmet..they are so good! I've been craving a lot of salads lately and when I went grocery shopping last week I stocked up on things to put on them.

I make ours with lettuce, carrots, radishes, green onions (sometimes red onion), green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes. On top, I use dried cranberries, almond slices, bacon bits, croutons. Top it off with raspberry walnut vinaigrette.

Boiled eggs, bacon, feta cheese, cucumbers, onions, radishes.. sometimes dried cranberries.

I made my own ranch dressing yesterday and it was very good! I think I'll cut back on the dill next time, but it is much better than any store bought Ranch I have had.

I'm a huge salad fan. Can't think of much I don't like on a salad. All of the above and some. :)

I am also someone who puts a ton of stuff on my salad. DH says sometimes too much stuff. LOL I can make a salad a whole meal and do it a lot for lunch.
Start with a variety of lettuce and/or spinach then add cucumbers, onions, radishes, red cabbage, carrots, avocado, olives, tomatoes, almonds or walnuts or pecans, dried cranberries, sun dried tomatoes, sweet & hot peppers, any kind of cooked meat, cheese, veggies, sprouts, beans, pickled beets, 3 bean salad, cole slaw, hard boiled eggs, and pita bread chips (lower in fat than croutons). And I love all kinds of dressings except for 1000 Island; never developed a taste for that.

I grow a variety of greens because I love salad and I eat one for dinner every night...I am getting into asian greens and really really like what I have grown...I will put most anything in a salad ...one of my alltime favorite things in a salad is apple...I use Ken's Lite dressings...60 cal's for two tbsps

Oh. I love salad.
We put kidney beans, garbanzo beans, mushrooms, cheese, peas, sometimes roasted chicken, cheese, oh, and beets....love the beets on my salad. Of course, a side of cottage cheese to dip in the dressing is good too.

Strawberries, apples, chopped almonds.....on top of mixed greens. But I don't like croutons at all.

I like sprouts too, plus nuts, fruits, peas, beets and everything else on any kind of greens.

Just about anything. I like sunflower seeds and sliced almonds on them too.

I have started to add plain cooked pasta to my lettuce, cheese, tomato, boiled egg, crab/chicken/ham, crackers and dressing etc. The pasta seems to stretch the salad and keeps me feeling fuller than just lettuce and the rest.

Looks like just about anything goes on a salad! As for dressing, I like the Girard's Champagne dressing (comes in a triangle bottle). But if cutting calories, the seasoned rice vinegar is great.

Iceberg or romaine lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, peas, broccoli, carrots, beans, sometimes turkey or chicken, and ocassionally cheese or walnuts are some of the things I add. Top it off with low-fat or no-fat dressing.
Had a big salad with dinner tonight with lots of the above stuff in it and low-fat Sweet and Sour Poppyseed dressing. Yum....

Something else I love to add to my salad is capers....I just bought a jar today along with a ton of other stuff for this weeks lunches!

What is that cheese that has looks like blue specks in it.Is it Blue cheese?I love that on a Salad.Greg calls it stinking Cheese.He saids it stinks so so bad.Alot of time I see it on salads bars and it get that and sprinkle that on my salad.It is really good.

I make a salad and take it to work each day. It consists of lettuce greens, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado, artichoke hearts, and chicken strips. I use one of those dressing spritzers with it. I love it!
