need an idea/ideas

I had to go to the hospital today for a scheduled cardiac catheterization....well, the nurses that were there, were so friendly and funny...and when i was signing the papers while leaving, one of the nurses was surprised that the other one let me use "her pen" LOL! I guess it was the other ladys favorite pen and she let me use it and left it with me...it must be an ongoing joke with her and her pens..LOL. So I want to make a pen holder with lots of cute pens.....I know she likes the medium point and it was the heart lab at the hospital, so am looking for neat and unusual ideas to make a pen holder and make the pens neat looking....

And since this is the place i love going to, I am hoping you all will help me out with ideas

I really appreciate it. I want to make it in the next week or so and deliver it to the hospital soon.....

We definitely need a plan with dimensions. My first thought is to put the fridge & freezer on opposite ends of that back wall with the range centered between them. You'll want a pot filler, but it shouldn't be a problem as there's already water there for the fridge. Put the microwave and warming drawer in the island, and leave the sink where it is. This way you don't need to move any walls, or mess with the floors if you don't want to. And I would definitely remove that crazy soffit over the island! :-)

In open concept things don't have to match they just need to coordinate. Choose colors you want in the space and use them in varying degrees in both parts of the room. The rug you have under the table is too big for that space. I would move it into the living room part of the room but orient it the opposite direction. Center it in that space with the window and use it as a guide for furniture placement. You should have at least a foot of hardwoods showing on all sides. Art should be placed with centers at about 60". a grouping should be placed as if it were one piece. Color should be repeated around the room to keep your eyes moving in the space. Center the dining table under the light and lower the light closer to the table. If you do bring in another rug it should also be centered under the light along with the table.Try the table turned the other way. The room will feel less cramped if you can comfortably walk all the way around the table grouping. When I move into a new place I try different furniture placement out for a few weeks then change things up and live with another position for awhile until I find what works in the room best for my lifestyle. Looks like you have a great start. I also love saving money buying at thrift stores and online. Gotta love a deal.

Are you staying with the current color scheme in the other rooms and on the kitchen soffits? Black will look sharp with those colors and echo your pendants; matching the other cabinets in a white of course will look fine too although I would be sure that the white you pick doesn't clash with the flooring. You could also pull a color from the veining of the counter, the grout in the floor tile, or any décor in the adjoining rooms.

I love the current green, and the yellow front door! The uniformity of the green allows the garage car-doors and people-door to blend in. I'd remove the fence unless it is serving a purpose (which I don't see). For safety, ensure the visibility of your house numbers from the street. Is there anything you'd like to add out front, such as a sitting space, a cover or a bench near either door? (I don't see the need for anything, it's just what functionality you would like.) For landscaping suggestions, re-post your picture, include your planting zone, the direction your house faces (East?), and a nearby major city so that people can make practical recommendations, and hope that a professional gives you a pretty picture to go by :-) Nice house!

I'll bet you could go to a florist's shop and see if they would dig out something left over from Valentines Day. I was thinking about a heart-shaped vase in which to put the pens...

My grandson's doctor's office has a big problem keeping people from walking off with their pens. They tape plastic spoons to the pens and draw faces on the spoon part.

Where I used to work we taped silk flowers on the pens. While they were in the pen holder, which was a small clay flower pot, they were quite decorative.

I was about to tell you about the pens with the flowers in a flower pot filled with dried beans but Ilene bean me to it! LOL

Maybe get a personalized pen holder? This one below can have the Nurses name and title added for a dollar more on the ceramic tile.

Then get some unusual pens for it. If you Google you find fish pens and frog pens and every imaginable type.

I always keep oddball pens for customers to use. That way they don't steal it. When I confront them they find it hard to tell a lie and say it was their pen although some still do try that. The thing to do is not to get an oddball pen that is too nice or you actually get even MORE of them stolen.

I had pens like these thinking they 'wouldn't walk away' but they all got stolen.

Check out these links. I've made fuzzy headed pens before with BIC pens with lids instead of the click type pens. I personalize them by adding ties or collars.
