LOOKING for: Beer Cheese Soup Recipe
Comments (3)Beer cheese soup: 1/2 stick butter ( 4 T.) 1/4 cup EACH finely chopped onion, celery carrots and bell pepper Sweat the veggies in the butter until no longer crisp, don't brown. Add 4 T flour Stir and cook one minute. Slowly add 1 can, 14 oz chicken broth ( home made is better if you have some) stirring to prevent lumps. Simmer 3 minutes to cook the flour. Add 1 cup beer ( not lite...and not dark...just a good lager) If you like a really thick soup... mix 1 T ( more if you like it really REALLY thick) cornstarch with a cup of milk, add to soup and bring to a simmer. If you don't like your soup so thick, just add 1 cup milk, no cornstarch. Add 1 tsp worchestershire sayce Add 2 cups grated very sharp chedder./...Cabot or Vermont is good....2 cups will be about 8 oz. Toss the cheese with 1/2 tsp Coleman's dry mustard. Heat until cheese is just melted and serve with toasted crutons. I also like a bit of hot pepper sauce in my bowl of soup. Linda C...See MoreLOOKING for: Need your tried and true beer bread loaf
Comments (6)This is the one I always made.....maybe added a handful of raisins.....maybe topped with some grated cheese or some dill seed....but this is basic beer bread. Linda C Beer Bread Here's the easiest loaf of bread you'll ever make. The beer gives it a deep yeast flavor. If you like, add your favorite herbs or seeds such as sesame, millet, etc., or even a bit of shredded cheese. 3 cups self-rising flour* 3 tablespoons sugar 1 (12-ounce) can of beer Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C). Lightly grease or spray a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour. Makes 1 loaf....See MoreRECIPE: looking for: broccolli, rice and cheese casserole
Comments (4)The recipe I have calls for Velveeta, but I would think real cheddar could only improve it :-) SUE'S BROCOCLI & RICE CASSEROLE 2 cups cooked rice 2 10 oz. pkgs chopped broccoli, thawed Minced onion to taste 2 cans cream of mushroom soup 1 small jar Cheese Whiz Mix together and bake at 350 for one hour I see no reason that you couldn't mix it all up and bake it the next day - there's no egg or anything that might separate....See MoreLOOKING for: Looking for Cream of Cauliflower Soup recipe
Comments (2)Found this recipe that was posted recently. Not sure if it is the one that you are look for or not. Ann. Cheesy Cauliflower Soup Posted by: aka_Raeanne (My Page) on Tue, Oct 8, 02 at 13:17 Level 1 - Pro/Fat This recipe has been around a while and I don't know who to credit it to. But it is so tasty and it is great for the fall/winter months ahead. Cheesy Cauliflower Soup 1 medium head of cauliflower chopped 1 medium onion chopped 1 stalk celery chopped 4 cups chicken stock 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce 1 cup cheddar cheese - grated S & P to taste chopped chives Put cauliflower, onion, celery & stock in crock pot, cover and cook on low 6-8 hours. Puree the cauliflower and return to crok, add cream, worcestershire and cheese, add salt and pepper to taste, stir to mix, turn to high and cook thoroughly, garnish with chives. ***The last time I made this I wanted enough to freeze some. So I did 2 large heads of cauliflower, 2 onions, 2 stalks of celery, 1 more cup of stock and I only used 1 cup of heavy cream. I find that it is creamy enough when you puree the cauliflower. I also puree using my hand blender, it is easy to use and clean-up. I also have McCormick's Hot Shot (black & red pepper blend) and sprinkle on top instead of chives. Adds a nice little zing to it. Note: The recipe above for the cauliflower soup should have 2 cups of heavy cream- but I always use one...See Moreginger_st_thomas
