Okay, this summer is going way too fast and I'm not ready for it to be August and time for my birthday! Now that I've got that out of my system....
I am so excited for it to be my turn to receive the birthday blocks. Sorry, but I am not going to wait til my birthday to open them all. I want to savor each one as I receive it!
Jen (mrseldoo) really took me by surprise and sent my birthday block in May! I really like it, a pretty pink "1930's square". I hadn't seen this pattern before, I'll have to look it up on Quilter's Cache.
I have also received a bright and beautiful "card trick" from Sue (polardream). I think the pattern and the colors really go together!
Linda - I haven't received yours yet. I'm anxiously checking my mailbox.
Thanks so much! I have been really enjoying these swaps!
Your block is going in the mail tomorrow - I hope you like the fabrics I chose - I'm fairly inexperienced with reproduction fabrics . . . Happy Birthday!
This is so much fun! The 30's blocks that you all have put together for me are so colorful. What a joy to open the packages!
I received a wonderful blue and yellow Ohio Star block from Linda (toolgranny) along with a card and a swirly spunky spotty fat quarter (makes you wish you could see it, eh?).
I also received another colorful block - luv the fabrics - from Sally (Nana24). Sally, what is that block name? I know I know it, it just escapes me... And another delightful surprise in the package - a 30's fabric tissue holder. Awesome! I was thinking of making one for myself, but there you go and beat me to the punch!
Thanks so much! I am really looking forward to my birthday this year thanks to you all!
Jeener, Glad you received your block. I usually put a note in my package about the block but realized after I mailed it I forgot to do so. I'm blamining my forgetting on having so busy a summer. Ha :) I don't want it to be "old timers".
The block is called Box Quilt and it came for Quilt Blocks Galore. It said it was a mail order block between 1920-1940 so I hoped it fit your '30 theme.
Just a warning-the kleenex covers are addicting! After I made one I just had to make more! They are quick and easy and are so cute.
We are looking forward to pictures when you have them all.
Hey! I was offline yesterday, but wanted to let you know that I received my block from Sharon (geezerfolks) on Thursday. It's a bowtie block - I love those! Thank you so much Sharon!
Just a quick note to let you know I have received lovely blocks from Tara (tdsully) and Lola (lola99) Tara - I apologize for the late note, I thought I had posted about your block already, but looking back through the messages, I don't see my note. Nonetheless, I love the blocks!!
YEA! Another block was in the mailbox tonight! Brenda (abbigail) stitched a bowtie block for me. Cute, cute, cute fabrics! Where do you guys find all these different 30's prints? Luv em all. Thanks so much!
Yesterday's mail brought me a jackpot - three blocks! Cathleen's (cziga) block arrived from over the border, Rebecca's (cannahavana) and Helen's (hlac) block all were in my mailbox. Do you suppose the mailman was saving them all? It was great fun opening them. My kids all wanted to open them for me. Thank you all. Its almost time to take pictures, just one more!
Just checking to see if you received my block. Mailed the same time as Jennifer's so should be there anytime. Tried emailing, but came back as undelivered. Sorry for the delay.
