We got home Tuesday evening and I just today downloaded some pics.
We had a wonderful time, ate great food, saw lots of sights and loved every moment of being around Jake.
We found out we are going to be grandparents again......the baby is due November 15th but too early to tell the sex. I am so happy for the kids and loved the look on my son's face when he told us the good news.
I will post some pics tomorrow or the next day.....I have spent all day in the garden and have laundry and shopping to do tomorrow.
My veggies are doing well and I can't believe how much they grew in just ten days.
Jake was so cute.....when I told him to let me give him some grandma kisses, he would turn his head so I could kiss his sweet neck and then he would give me a kiss on the cheek. Ahhhhhhhh, so sweet!

Descanso Gardens believes that the best time to visit the International Rosarium is in April and October. Support for that thesis is indicated by the fact that rose shows in Southern California begin in the last two weeks of April at San Fernando and Pacific Rose Society (at the Arboretum). Given the current weather, right now is not really the best time. I have bloom in my garden, but decent bloom is easily two or three weeks away. JMO, of course.

Hey there COUNTRY! Long time, eh? EASY to make...cut out 5 in. squares and sew (I hand sew with running stitch while watching tv) 3 sides. Turn right side out and stuff with a nylon (one square will hold a nylon from knee to toe - I kinda fold it and fit it into the 'bag' or square. Then I tack it with embroider floss in the center to hold it there. Then I whipstitch the open end and have one square done. Then layout all your squares and pin together in a row...sew one to the other and then sew the rows together. I haven't sewn the squares together yet and will probably do that on machine as well as the rows. It is reversible this way, too. No need to back or border it. Washable/Dryable. Salvaging fabrics from things you know or like would be really special! I did order most of mine on ebay 'precision cut' quilt squares. I like 5 in. -- they take less stuffing than larger squares and easier to sew and handle than the smaller ones. I didn't want any duplicate patterns in mine, but I do have a few matches. Charm quilts can have matches for all the patterns EXCEPT for one square that is the only one of its kind OR all different squares with only one that has a match. Also, they have I SPY squares that have interesting things in them - great for kids quilts. Jannie...GO FOR IT...it is EASY! (and FUN!) Nice talking to ya all...nola_anne

Well darn you both Flamey and Gravey, though I doubt Gravey will lose any sleep over it. :-) But who's gonna make margaritas now??? Nita, I figure I'll have the get-together now and when you finally do make an appearance in CA, it will just be reason for celebration once again. You know even though the Bakersfield gathering was, what, 10-12 years ago? My hubby still tells people about Nita, the lady who rides a pretty trike around the country. That quiz is cool. But it says that I sound like North Central. Don't know about that! When dh lived in NC the people there thought he was from Virginia. Apparently our Cdn accent sounds like Virginians....

Congratulations on the new baby. I know you'll be anxious to go see it too when it gets here. Maybe a Christmas trip?? I'm ready for a Jake fix.
