Happiness (for me) is running the quilt machine on the frame for an ENTIRE bobbin without having to stop for anything except the edge of the quilt.

Finishing cutting 71 tiny squares and rectangles for each of the 25 remaining blocks of my miniature quilt. :)

A pin, huh. What, no frequent flyer miles? Yeah, I've been lax about registering things lately, I need to get on it again, especially now that the "what's new" logjam seems to have broken up considerably. I just checked and it currently stands at 95, but I have lots more waiting in the wings. John, I feel your pain! Actually, Ken's become much more supportive of my little habit now that he sees there is a market for it. The trip to FL for the '07 Extravaganza was a real eye-opener for both of us. That was the first time I'd ever been approached by people who actually knew who I was beforehand. I guess a lot that comes from running my mouth off here. There are way more GW lurkers out there than there are posters, and I met several of them on that trip. I just wish that whatever "worldwide recognition" I may have attained had some impact on our local sales, but local people could care less about new hybrids!

Mine adore and really prefer fennel. I have never had a problem with buying parsley or fennel for the cats. Nuseries shouldnt be spraying them, beacause, presumably they are for human consumption. They only thing I have a problem with is fresh bought milkweed. If I dont spary it down with a bleach solution at first, I often seem to go a sudden onset of melt. I dispise melt. I think the big growers intentionally lace the plants with whatever causes melt. I have a favorite nursery here in Jax that I always go to, because they have the same views I do--caterpillars never truly harm a plant, and butterflies must be preserved. Talk to the people that work there, and if you happen to find host plants loaded with cats, and you dont get strange looks for buying the plants just because " they're infested", then you've found you place to shop from.=D

Finishing the Round Robin exchange blocks two whole months before they are due the end of September! Woo Hoo! No last minute frantic stitching for me!

While I love hand-piecing and hand-quilting, happiness is designing a new quilt, seeing it finished, and getting to see the joy and appreciation on someone's face when I give them the quilt.

Machine quilting a quilt with zero puckers on the back! I have enjoyed the rainy weather, I don't feel 'guilty' spending hours on my bluework when it's raining outside lol!

Going to the quilt shop with my daughter (who isn't a fan of traditional quilts and up until now, hadn't found a pattern that she liked) and picking out fabric for a very modern quilted bedspread that I will make for her and her husband.

You're kidding, right?! Choose just *one* thing for happy?

Finally choosing which pattern to make after hours of admiring the beautiful quilts in books, magazines, forums, and this site.... having the double-check agree after figuring out yardage needs, and then finding that I have enough fabric on hand to get started... discovering that I *did* put a new blade in after cutting the last quilt... laying out the lapquilt and seeing that yes! the colors work just right... piecing a whole top and ALL the corners meet precisely... DH helping pin the layers, and the quilt stayed squared... machine stitch-in-the-ditch that stayed in the ditch... not getting a cramp in my hand after blindstitching the binding... the recipent's expression upon seeing the finished quilt (yeah, that's better than the cherry on top of the double-chocolate fudge sundae)... and then being able to start another one.

Meldy_nva you gave me a new term, what is "blindstitching"? I know I have probably heard this term before, but did not know what it meant. Thanks bunches.

Sorry, I think it's more commonly written with a space: Blind stitching. That tiddly-fiddly stitch to sew the binding down... I was taught to do it 10-to-the-inch, and my arthritis gets pouty sometimes, so it can be a real pleasure to bury the last knot :)
