What's for dinner Tuesday?

We're having smoked sausage and fried red potatoes and onions tonight. Our California kids (Harry's DD, SI and our youngest GD will be here tomorrow to spend 5 days with us. We are taking them to Homosassa for two nights (Saturday and Sunday). Sure will be happy to see them. But of course, I've been a cleaning fool today. Bet I sleep good tonight!

What are you/did you have for dinner?

I had lamb chops and potato salad. Where or what is Homosassa? Hope you have a great time.

I did a lot of running around this afternoon. For supper, I fixed lean ground turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, and leftover succotash. Easy and quick clean up.

I hope you have lots of great fun with your visiting family. Enjoy it to the max.

I cooked up a batch of my rice and mixed grains with added quinoa, celery, carrots, and onions tossed in with the broth at the very beginning. I added some smoked sausage half way through, cut into half inch rounds and a couple of big handfuls of kale at the end. Hot sauce to taste! Yum. This concoction is also great with chicken or shrimp....or as a side dish. Nice on a cold evening.

I agree. You need to go back to the drawing board. Not very professional on their part. So sorry that happened for you. I've been tired today. I don't know why. Haven't really done very much. We had a little snag in our renovation project and that has caused me to lose lots of sleep but we're back on track. Met with the contractor this morning, did a little cleaning, then met with a gal from the fabric store to chose fabrics for window treatment, chair covering and dust ruffle. Had to go out to order carpeting for our closet so I picked up Chinese while I was out. Hot and Sour soup, chicken chow mein and some kind of beef is what's for dinner tonight. Hit a new place so I have no idea if it's any good and "frankly my dear, I don't give a d...." LOL

Thanks, all. Sure wish I felt as good as they say I'm doing! But I'm getting stronger--couldn't have made that chicken salad two weeks ago, much less the second trip to the store. Dr. told me I wouldn't wake up one morning and suddenly be able to eat. Rather, it wil happen gradually. I'm so darned impatient. Sue, I'm not a big fan of blue cheese either. I love a good homemade BC salad dressing, though. I haven't had Spam or years. Back in the '70's when they had the meat boycott and people gave up meat for a week, we had Spam one night. Pam, that sounds so good I'm drooling. You always have the best meal ideas!! Jean, that sounds good. Around here they sell like one each red, yellow and green pepper together and call it "stop light peppers". Mary, hopefully that will be the last mowing for this year. I need a haircut but she's so far away I've been putting it off. Plus, Iost more than a little bit at the nape of my neck and up in the back so I'm trying to let the layers grow out. I'm at the last one so I guess I'll just keep whacking at it myself for a while. Jasdip, I'd love your soup--wish we were closer 'cause I'd come begging at your door :-) And I'm so ready for leftover turkey. (with lots of gravy) Glenda, great minds think alike. I picked up a can of pumpkin for bread this morning. I don't like our GC either. I will say one thing for GC. They have one heck of a good breakfast. I love those warm cinnamon rolls! Shirley, it sure pays to keep some quick things in the pantry for days like you had today. Thanks for the beet reminder. I just love them and have a jar of pickled beets that I keep thinking might taste good. Georgysmom, it sounds like you are having a great time on vacation. I would've had the fried oysters (again), too. It's something I don't do at home. Keep on enjoying!! Raven, do you feel okay? Hope you found something you liked for dinner.

Sue, I've been hungry for smoked sausage since someone mentioned having it with cabbage a while back. Sure makes for a good, quick dinner. Laura, hope you enjoy your dinner. Glenda, stay warm--we're getting colder by the minute here! Gazania, wow! That's a lot of dinner! Jasdip, you get the clean frig medal! I'd freeze if I sleptwith the window opened even a crack :-( Seagrass, we can't wait to find out what you had for dinner!! Jean, my bathroom's about the size of a postage stamp so I couldn't pull anything like that off. I love the sound of your shower curtain! (Hate that taping!) Mary, you'll enjoy those flannel sheets tonight for sure. BLT's! Sigh!! Monica, you are so right about homemade bean soup. It's delicious. Sometimes I make big fluffy dumplings and pour the bean soup over the top. Yum! Matti, you still have a while to figure it out. Salad sounds good to me!

Costco chicken, rolls and 'something' out of the frozen vegetable bin. Lamb chops tomorrow night. (I'm not finding any *good* fresh vegetables at the grocery except Florida sweet corn.)

It's the best salad I think I've ever had. Was created by the owner years ago, and is now on the Pentagon's daily menu. He served the salad at a military hangar, here and they so loved it, he gave them the recipe. So there you go!

Hey I was wondering where you were Patti! It's okay, I know how darned busy you were today! Jeesh. Time for a rest, okay??

My potatoes are getting wrinkled so I made a big pan of scalloped potatoes. DH wanted his favourite....sausages with red sauce. He said he's asked for them a couple of times lately and I always make something else! He's not complaining because the other dishes were terrific. LOL

I boiled some carrots crisp-tender, threw a gob of butter and chopped lovage in. Man that herb is good! We just love it. It tastes like strong celery. My friend offered me a plant if I want it. I'm looking around outside for a spot for it! Apparently it can grow 4-5 feet high, but I can taste it in my spaghetti sauces, tomato soup, cabbage soup, rice, pasta......lots of ideas.

Homosassa is on the Gulf Coast of Florida.. a pretty cool town...

Since I didn't defrost anything for supper.. thinking we would be on the road to Missouri... we have decided to have..Bacon, Eggs,home made english muffins,and hash brown potatos...

It was a beautiful sunny day today in the upper 70's, so dinner was one one of our summer favorites - Shrimp and watermelon salad.

I had a hair cut appointment today so I was running late having lunch so picked up a couple tacos, ate late, not sure if I will have dinner. Probably sandwich or salad for the hubby.

Tonight was taco's and refried beans. My family loves them and so easy to fix.

I have been busy getting all my reservations for campgrounds for the trip we are taking starting May 31. We will be on the road for 6 weeks.
