How many windows do you have in your home?
Comments (5)I have 27. It cost around 17,000 to replace them. I thought I had a lot of windows until my neighbor told me she had 72 windows in her renovation project!...See MoreHow many lamps are in your house?
Comments (29)Or maybe 13. It depends on your definition of "lamp". I'm including anything that isn't hard-wired. MBR - 2 on nightstands, 1 on DH's dresser. Music Room - 1 floor lamp, 1 swag over the music stand area. Guest Room - 1 wall-mounted, 1 floor lamp Office- 2 swag over big desk, 1 on small desk, 1 floor lamp DR - one on antique radio. LR - one floor lamp, one table lamp. If I add in interior hard-wired fixtures, the total rises to 24 total sources of electric light. And that includes any recessed lights, the light in the shower and the range hood! Our house is 2,000 square feet, but very open, and without a lot of furniture to provide much surface area for table lamps. It also doesn't have any overhead lighting. It gets a little dark in here. Just realized I should include DH's 1958 Seeburg jukebox, which glows pretty impressively when plugged in! So, grand total: 29....See MoreHow many metals can you mix through out your house?
Comments (5)ORB is fine. I have chrome for plumbing and despite what Patricia says it is the easiest to keep looking good., I have ORB for doors, and antique brass for lighting and my house is being featured in a national magazine in their February issue. So if it's so dated, why would the magazine be featuring my home with ORB? My opinion is black for doors will wind up dated before ORB as it is so trendy...See Morehow many decibels outside your home is too loud for you?
Comments (9)Having previously owned a home near a busy street I can say that I never once opened the windows in the home because I was concerned about car exhaust. It was never comfortable sitting outside on either one of my two patios because the din of the traffic was disturbing. And the most important issue was that it was terribly hard to resell the house because of the location to the road and the road noise. It's a losing proposition. https://decibelpro.app/blog/what-is-50-decibels/...See More- 11 years ago
