A Question about Chemo

In early February this year I was diagnosed with colon cancer and 2 weeks later with breast cancer - 2010 has been the pits so far!!! I have had surgery for both - the colon surgery went well and all the cancer was contained, which was great. I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy done on the breast - the lump had good clear margins, however the lymph node taken had cancer in it. I am going into hospital today to have an axillary dissection so that more nodes can be taken. I have been told that I will need chemo and radiation and to be honest, I am absolutely petrified and frightened. I have heard all these horror stories about chemo and I just wanted to ask those at the KT who have had chemo what they did to cope with the awful side effects. I don't know whether all chemo is the same, but any hints or suggestions on how I can get through this would be wonderful and much appreciated.
