Find the lowest price you can get online and see if Sears can match it. It worked out for me.

There is ALWAYS another sale around the corner. I think the days of "seasonal sales" are gone with the advent of internet shopping and easily-available price comparisons. Sears is constantly having a sale of one kind or another, and typically other retailers will match a price you've seen elsewhere.

It is important to keep in mind that the clock starts ticking on most appliances upon delivery, not upon installation. If you receive your appliances too early, you will lose out on some of the warranty period, which is typically one year. There have been a number of posts here from people who have done just that, and their appliance breaks, say, in Month 10 of usage, but actually Month 13 of ownership and they are out of luck. Occasionally you will find a store that will hold the appliance you've chosen until you are ready for delivery. Unfortunately, since the recession, we have seen posts from people who've had a store hold their appliances, only for the store to go out of business, and bye-bye appliances. IMO, not worth the risk, when you can just wait to buy your appliances until you are ready for installation.

Also, if you take delivery before you are ready for installation, where will you store it that is safe and dry and won't be in your way? We have also seen posts from people who've stored their appliances in their garage, only to have it knocked on its side by workmen, gotten wet, or even stolen.

Also, you will find that your kitchen design, and your appliance choices, will evolve over time. If you buy now, and then change your mind, say, from a 30" range to a 36" range, or from a side-by-side fridge to a french-door fridge, or from a range to a walloven/cooktop combo, or any number of changes you may have, well you are stuck with the appliance choice you picked X months ago, before you knew you wanted/needed XY&Z.

last minute, after you have made all your decisions and built the space with the appropriate electrical circuit.

the 1-800-customer support numbers are easy to call.
ask them if the dimensions of the PDF are exactly what the device requires.

deal with a store by email ; keep copying and sending the same list until they take it seriously.
if you want bulk buying discounts, write it out that you expect this, and that you are not a coupon sucker. They can talk to the manufacturer to have the coupon date extended. Or so the story goes. You'll never know why some marketing person put an arbitrary start and stop date on a coupon or a "SAle". and you don't care, either. IF you let them, they'll get you thinking of dates, and you lose / they win. The boat is leaving the dock, get on board, hurry, hurry, now is the time to get on board.

We bought our refigerator, dish washer and stove/range at Lowes on Black Friday last year and we saved a lot of money. The fridge is a Samsung SS and we got it $1000 less than what it sold for the day after Black Friday (we went back and checked). Our range ($450) is a whirlpool and so is the DW ($350)and both were marked down a couple hundred. So if you can wait till Black Friday I would do that. Good Luck!

I purchased my Kenmore convection range, OTR Convection Microwave and LG Refrigerator from Sears last August during a Friends and Family sale. We weren't ready for installation, so I set the delivery date as far in advance as I could and then called as the date got closer to push it back. In the end they held them for 2 months. In that time, they had an end of model year sale on the range and microwave, then an additional sale on all built in appliances. I went back to Sears at each sale to get reductions on items as I hadn't taken delivery yet.

If you can wait until the end of the model year in Sept/Oct it will be worth your while.

Go to Sears and ask one of the appliance sales guys when they will liquidate the floor models. Then ask him to call or email you when they are available for purchase. We did this in May and saved significant $.

That's really smart, ntruro: this particular model I'm thinking of getting is one of their best-rated in the budget category by users, -so not sure they're liquidating anytime soon, but it's worth a try. Thank you for the suggestion.

Look for something like an "overstock" or "tent" sale. I know our hhgregg has another one coming up. You have to move if it's the model you really want. We got a floor model Samsung induction range for an amazing deal a year ago (just paid off the 12 months no interest), but I knew that was the range I wanted.

I got mine at the Sears Outlet store.
they were 'scratch and dent' models ( fridge, stove & dishwaher)
The scratch on thefridge is on the side that is against the wall and i could not find what was wrong with the other 2. it could just be that they were last year's models.
You have to keep going as obviously the inventory keeps changing.
I saved at least $600 on the 3, if not more. Can't quite remember right now.
