Jenn-Air Oiled Bronze/Mixing apps metals?

Has anyone seen Jenn-Air's line of Oiled Bronze kitchen appliances "in person"? If so, what were your thoughts and did you opt to use those appliances?

I esp. love the look of the refrigerator. Any thoughts on putting bronze frige on one side of the room and SS range and dishwasher on the other side (about 9 feet away)? I do plan on also using bronze lighting fixtures. OK or too "patchwork"?

I have indeed seen them and had my heart set on them for quite awhile. I saw them at Apt in the Chicagoland area. But I ran into a problem because I think you really have to have the whole suite to look good, and they don't make an induction cooktop, which was even further up my list then the Jenn Air appliances. Also, they don't make a range-hood. There is one in their ad, but it's not Jenn Air's. I called. Finally, I'm getting a friends-and-family discount from GE, so the price of the Jenn Airs was too crazy to justify getting them. Still beautiful though.

I posed a similar question in the Appliances forum. I plan on doing the same thing, an OB fridge with SS range, vent, and dw, assuming the OB looks okay with my cabinets. What color cabinets are you getting?

I thought it was beautiful, and might go that way myself if I go w/traditional double oven instead of advantium. My cabinets will be off-white - I would suggest finding one w/a door sample. Not sure you want to mix it w/stainless oven, etc. I did read a review (somewhere...) that said it scratched easily. It has a vertical texture to it, and I was afraid horizontal scratches would really show.

Hi Athens! I sure hope it's going to look okay, because I'm doing pretty much the same thing. All of our exterior doors are full divided lights, including five sets of french doors. I'm not a big lever fan either, but according to the Marvin literature, the french doors require levers for the multi-point locks. So we'll have levers on all exterior doors and hexagonal glass knobs on the interior doors. I'm trying tie the two together by matching the metals as closely as possible and using simple rectangular back plates for all the door hardware. I reassure myself by looking at our 1920's house which has hammered bronze knobs on the exterior doors and glass knobs on most, but not all of the interior doors. Our 20s house also has bronze hardware on the stained wood doors which are in the entry, living room, den, and dining room. It has nickel hardware on all the painted doors which are in the bedrooms and the kitchen/breakfast nook. I think it looks great.

michellemarie--I agree, but I don't know which faucet makers also do hot water taps or which makers have a shade of ORB facuets that complements another makers ORB hot water taps.

I think the Jenn-Air white floating glass fridge is just a little too modern with the glass and bar pull style handles and doesn't quite go with with the antique floors, ORB hardware, tin backsplash, and glazed cabinets. I would personally do an all SS fridge as it reads as a neutral to me. I know that it doesn't match your white appliances, but mixing whites can be tricky and IMO, sometimes SS matches better with white appliances than a white appliance from a different line. Good luck!

They're just too close to the old 70's coppertone, but with a wierd sorta green undertone. Maytag intoduced a blue washer and dryer a few years ago that looked like the blue had been "colorwashed" over a white primer too thinly, and the washer and dryer were different colored blues even though they were supposed to match. The ORB appliances look like they were painted in that same factory with the same guys. They really look as if not enough paint was used to cover the primer and they're subtly different colors.

Overall, it's not a look I cared for, and not one that is going to last long in the marketplace.
