Worked a little this morning. Both of us work at the golf course Sunday mornings so we both eat late breakfast or early lunch.

We had a chicken breast sandwich with cheese potato rounds (Schwan's) and cottage cheese. Have some ice cream if need dessert later. :)

Patti, is the Ditalini salad recipe in the Kitchen table recipes? Sounds good.

I don't often respond to this because typically my DH cooks! I did the cooking today. We had a whole chicken, 5.5 lbs, in the frig. I sauteed celery, onion, carrots, peppers & garlic & put that in a large casserole. Rosemary, oregano & basil went into the cavity of the bird & I rubbed the outside with olive oil, salt, pepper and crushed garlic (we love garlic). I put the chicken on top of the veggies in the casserole & roasted for about 2 hours.

After the chicken was done I took about 1/2 of the roasted veggie mixture & squished out the liquid & added some liquid from the bottom of the casserole. I put in a saucepan & added about 1/2 cup red wine. I cooked until reduced & that became our gravy. My Dh had potatoes with it & used the gravy over all. I had the chicken & veggies.

The smell while roasting was wonderful & the taste was tremoundous!

Seems like I spent a lot of time in the kitchen today. I've been making desserts using rhubarb as I got a lot from my step-father.
I have a rhubarb crisp in the oven now, and I still have a bag full of the stuff!

Meat loaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli for dinner (almost ready) and rhubarb crisp in the oven. I also have lemon cake, rhubarb cake and some butter tart squares leftover from yesterday as well.

I also have 2 loaves of bread to go in the oven in a little while.

Hellion, I've wondered about Schwan's products. I see their truck making deliveries here a lot. Looked them up on-line and the have a nice variety. Do your order from them on a regular basis and if so, what are your favorites?

Georgysmom's recipe isn't on The Gathering Place site that I could see, but here's the recipe. It really has a refreshing taste, due to the fresh parsley. I didn't have green onions so I used shallots today and it's just as good.

Ditalini Shrimp Salad

1 c. uncooked asta (ditalini or tiny shells)
9 oz. cooked shrimp cut in bite-sized pieces
3 stalks celery, finely diced
2 green onions, finely diced
1/2 tsp. fresh dill, finely chopped (I like a little more)
1 Tbsp. fresh parsley, roughly chopped (I like a lot more)
1/4 c. fresh lemon juice
1 c. mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste
3 hard-boiled eggs

Cook pasta in lightly salted water until al dente (about 8 minutes). Drain, rinse and set aside.

Combine mayo and lemon juice. Mix pasta, celery, dill, parsley, shrimp and mayo mixture. Slice eggs. Gently add most of the eggs to mixture saving a few slices for garnish. Chilll several hours. Refreshing warm weather salad.

Glenda, sorry your dinner wasn't as good as it normally is. It sounds good, though. Was the traffic bad in your area due to the holiday?

Hostapasta, my gosh that sounds delicious. We don't care who does the cooking. We just like to read what everyone's been doing and what they're eating. I missh Harry's cooking. He didn't do all of it, but a good portion when we were both working and he got home at 2:30 and I didn't get home until after 6 some evenings.

A few weeks ago I roasted a chicken and made a big fat mess in the oven. You've thought the house was on fire with the amount of smoke. Had to open eery door and window and turn on the ceiling fans :-) Glad you didn't have that experience.

On the news last night they said no rain for the next week, well it rained all night but today it was beautiful, in the 70's but the heat is on the way.
Had to go to the store as the dog & cat food was getting very low.
Did some weeding in the gardens, with all this rain my plants are very very big. They need to be broken up but if I do that hubby will want to make more flower beds. My dwarf peach tree is full of peaches already.
For dinner hubby had pizza, I had a turkey sandwich.

I had to go to a birthday party right after lunch. I brought my piece of cake home with me. Went through the drivethru and used my bogo free Big Mac coupon. So that was my evening meal.

We are going to have chicken tortilla soup again tonight.
We had planned on putting some baby back ribs on the open pit bbq but it is too windy outside.
I made a huge pot of pinto beans so hopefully tomorrow will be less windy or we will eat earlier in the day.
Sunny and warm but a little too windy for me today.

My hubby does all the cooking and he made lasagna for us. It was delicious.

Mike and Timm went to Boston today to see some more sights. On the wayback they stopped and had ribs and french fries.

I stayed home today and visited my friend, Elaine. We have been parked in her driveway for just about a week. She invited me to come for dinner. We had spaghetti and salad, it was very good.

Our weather has been rainy and cold for the past several days. Bet they will have nice sunny weather after we leave.

Headed to Maine and then Nova Scotia. We are having a very good time and have visited with all my friends that live here.

We went to our favorite Chinese Buffet. Had all of my favorites. Egg Drop Soup. Theirs is the bestI I judge all of the Chinese Restarants. by their egg drop soup.. Had some Bourbon Chicken,LoMein,Green Beans,Brocolii,Stuffed mushrooms Pineapple Shrimp and an Egg Roll.Just a big spoonfu so that I could taste all of my favorites. For dessert I had my favorite Tirimisu. Ate too much but it was delicious!

I'm getting into a terrible habit of answering my posts and reviewing and then forgetting to hit the "Post" icon. I did it again last night. What a bummer! From now on I'm going to go back on and make sure I've posted.
