This is how the thread began but perhaps time to take another look? You can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them.

Sorry about the lack of info. I was looking for a broad range of flowers with no height requirement and interested in those plants that can take the sun and heat and are more drought tolerant. When the flowers are past their bloom, I would be quite happy if at least the leaves hold up and don't go crispy. An example is my Yarrow which is in a prominent place. Its foliage looks awful come the end of July. And I do water when plants absolutely need it. The perennial bed in question is in the back of our garden against a fence line and faces south with full sun all day long. I'm looking for those plants that are still looking good in the July-August time frame and thought I'd ask here. I've been introducing many more trouble free plants as I'm certainly not getting any younger! So . . . In the past two years I've renewed the bed by adding Goldenrod, the Salvia 'May Night', along with two new 'Ruby Star' Weigela shrubs to give variety to the bed. Last year I added four peonies and two Baptisia 'australis'. I have the Veronica 'Sunny Border Blue' which is an okay flower, but I've had them for years and am a little tired of them.

Katkin, I used to have the globa from Lady, but I am not very good with dormant things, and I misplaced it somewhere... Any ginger that you want to bring me is fine (I have butterfly ginger, kahili ginger, Daniel weeks, alpinia formosana (pine striped), costus osae, costus specious, alpinia japonica, costus comosus, costus stenophyllus, Costus stepladder (Costus malortieanus)alpinia purpurata, alpinia nutans narrow leaf, Costus cuspidatus, costus woodsonii, hedychium kewense,costus barbatus than the edible gingers: regular ginger, turmeric, galangal. These are my gingers. Anything that I don't have would be great. Nytrinigemini if you have an extra anise hysop, I would like that a lot. I love anise flavored tea. Thanks Veronika

Sounds like everyone has sent & received some really great boxes!Just checked the delivery confirmation # that Gladys sent me.My box will be here 2morrow!!!Now I'm trying to plan out how to open it without being mauled by the kids. LOL!!!They know I share!!Plus any box arriving in Dec just HAS to be for them. All my shopping is done & everything is wrapped! How is everyone else doing?We just got finished making a cheese ball.Tastes much better than the 2 for 5$ deals from Wallyworld! ~Christmas Cheese Ball~ 2 8-oz packages cream cheese, slightly softened 1 8-oz can crushed pineapple, well drained 2 Tablespoons finely chopped green onion 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper 1 teaspoon seasoning salt 2 cups chopped pecans, divided Combine cream cheese, pineapple, green onion, bell pepper, seasoning salt, and 1 cup of pecans in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly. Cover and chill. When the cheese mixture is firm, form the entire mixture into a ball. Roll the ball in the remaining 1 cup of chopped pecans. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap until ready to serve. Serve with your favorite crackers. Due to me & HUBBY being sick the dishes & laundry are getting backed up. Now that I feel up to cleaning, the breaker to the well keeps popping.So NO water!(Thank God for Purell!) The rental company was supposed to send an electrician out today to fix it. It's after 9 don't think they are coming tonight!!They better be here EARLY in the A.M.!I will need water for my coffee fix & shower. later...April
