I got plants of Cinco de Mayo and Distant Drums in a single package from one of the big box stores. I really just wanted Distant Drums, but planted the Cinco de Mayo as well. I was not happy with CdM as it clashed with colors of the neighboring roses and dug it out after a year or so and potted it up. We started another rose bed in another part of our property. The front row had alternating bushes of "Easy Does It" and "Colorific"; the rear row had CdM in in center; on either side of it were plants of "Chilhuly". On the ends of the rear row were plants of Benjamin Britten. We had a row of the Scarlet Magellan zinnias (5 inch flowers on 12 inch plants) in from the the roses and taller zinnias in reds, orange and yellow planted behind the roses. CdM looked very much at home in all of this.

OA, the big maracas are from the dollar store.. The napkin rings are wood and from Pottery Barn as are the placemats,,and I didn't have any margaritas before I typed that..please excuse the typos..oh boy! Thanks, Ladies..your kind words are always appreciated.. And Karen, you are very appreciated for doing the albums..really! Thank you! The Bird of Paradise place setting was .86 cents, OA, 3 cents is 3 cents, LOL..And really, I can see why..They are a bit gaudy, but fun for Cinco and some other time when it will raise eyebrows...:) and who could NOT buy 4 place settings for less than 4.00..not me! Here they are toned down a little with blue..the bowl is huge and had that parrot on it! There's a blue line around the plate.. I should have just googled Bird of Paradise by Pfaltzgraf so you could see the whole .86 ...4 piece setting...:( My brain is tired from being away for the First Communion and Mother's Day..busy weekend!

Nana...I have to agree w/everyone...this is such a festive table. From the colorful sombrero and tablecloth to all your great accessories..I too love the vintage burro planter and the cute S&P. Funny, in all my years, I've never had a margarita , I guess it's never too late...so along with the others here, I'll have one too! jane

Well, Ladies, I owe Nicole, and every one else, sincere and heartfelt apologies for not getting my package out on time. Nicole, I spent the last two days on the couch with breathing treatments of all kinds, just made it down to the Post Office today. I am so sorry! The PO Lady said it should be there by Monday. I surely hope so! And, is this swap completed? If it isn't, it's probably my fault for being late! Would like to start the June swap, but I won't if this isn't done. Let us know, Okay! Thanks!
