home fries got me craving for breakfast:

scrambled cheese eggs
sausage
grits
raisin bread and apple butter

I had leftover salmon, and leftover green beans. With all the talk of home fries, I made them to go with the leftovers. Also, topped a small amount of cottage cheese with canned peach pie filling.

Guess what-it is raining again. Hubby said I should take it easy all day but that got old so I worked on the cushions for the porch. For dinner hubby had bacon, eggs & polenta, I had bacon & a english muffin.

I have smoked bbq sliced beef brisket and buns which = brisket sandwiches. I also have roasted corn on the cob, and sliced Vidalia onions.

This is our long weekend, and today was a gorgeous day.....the last nice day of a week of predicted rain.
We washed the windows, I hung out 2 loads of laundry.

For dinner I'm trying 2 new dishes. One is a Tomato rice dish (Tamatar Biryani) using cardomom, cloves and cinnamon sticks.

The other is a dish using asparagus, leeks and garlic.

They are both pretty hands-on, so I may not make 2 new dishes at once next time! LOL

We haven't eaten yet, so I'll let you know how we liked it. We're having pork tenderloin with it.

heated up a chunk of the pork loin i'd made last week..it was sooo good...just plain mashed and those baby canned peas...how easy is that? i added a bit of mint jelly...have jusr enough left for dh to have a bbq sandwich for lunch...

Glenda, I think that home-fried potato thread got everyone hungry for them. I'd love the raisin bread and apple butter. Just give me the loaf and the jar and that would be my dinner!

Shirley, I'm fighting the temptation of adding them somewhere on this weeks menu. Not the best thing in the world for Harry, though. I love salmon. I think I missed it this year. Publix usually has beautiful red salmon (I forget what kind it is) from Washington state every year and I stock up even though it is a little pricey.

Mary, I can't believe you're having rain again. Most nights I prefer your DH's dinner to yours, but tonight I like yours better. That sounds so good right now. I shouldn't read these posts before I have dinner :-)

We had waffles and scrapple!! We love breakfast for dinner once in awhile!

Waiting for the grill to reach the right temperature. I have chicken breasts seasoned and ready to go. I'm also experimenting. Have never grilled meatballs, but I'm going to give it a try. I baked them last time, and they were wonderful. I'm using the super-lean ground turkey breast with onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, etc. Kinda like meatloaf, only different shape and different cooking format.

We had our Mother's Day and birthdays celebration supper today at Amber and Mike's. Everyone was able to come. I did not eat all of this but this is what was served. Hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled smokey links, cheese potatoes, baked beans, green beans, corn on the cob, deviled eggs, two kinds of coleslaw, cheese,carrots and radishes, fresh strawberries, grapes,strawberry rhubarb pie, black raspberry pie, birthday cake that was to be white but turned out to be chocolate and two kinds of ice cream. Drinks were lemonade, iced tea and a variety of pop. I had the iced tea. Now back home and really ready to go to bed. Good Night all.

I thawed out some sirloin...was going to pan fry it and have gravy, mashed potatoes and a vegetable, but we had to go pick up a dog food donation and split an order of fried chicken while we were out, and Jody said he wasn't really hungry, so I will fix it tomorrow. Was outside until almost 8:30, so very happy to not have to fix supper.

Pan seared beef steak, baby peas (frozen and microwaved), and sliced tomatoes.
