Not a snob. I don't know any of them personally. I watched some of the coverage of Jenna's wedding yesterday, she seems like an everyday person. What makes someone think Chelsea is"snobby"?

Is there anything to know about Chelsea or judge her on besides her telling that guy "none of your business?" I have never seen her in the news or on TV except for that.

I wouldn't say that any of them are snobbish, since I don't know them. They are all the children of extreme privilege, raised within the cocoon of high-power politics, surrounded by security, and unable to have any privacy the moment they're outside their homes. All three of them have wildly controversial fathers (plus Chelsea's mother) and that doesn't make life easier.

IMO Jenna's decision to have her wedding at the Crawford ranch was a wise one. I sure would like to see pictures, though.

I met Chelsea Clinton not long ago, and had a brief conversation with her.
She is a not a snob. Very casual and easygoing, looks you right in the eye when speaking, and not artificial at all.

I wouldn't know but I don't think Chelsea is a snob. I believe Chelsea was more sheltered than the twins. She seems like a lot of only children I know who have parents who stressed academics and scheduled activities over free social time. I think she led a relatively structured more adult oriented life than the twins.

She certainly seemed to have the benefit of more parental control.
Although it looks like the twins have managed to grow out of their teenage drinking escapades.

Children of any type of public figure come under extreme scrutiny, and are often ridiculed for the same things other teens do "just because they are teens". (or what ever age)This includes everyone from the preachers kids all the way up to the president, or queens kids.

She is just a child of a parent involved in a marital problem!
She seems to stand her ground and I admire her!

I simply meant that the "public figure" can be anyone from our local ones all the way up to seen by the entire world, its just that as you get more exposure you get more criticism.

Since my dad owned the only store in town, I was one of those kids that got critized for everything!

It's amazing how resilient kids can be. My daughter's nanny came from the worst of home situations and she is one of the most caring, loving girls I have ever been around. It makes you wonder.

Chelsey Clinton a snob? I don't think so. She seems like a nice person from what I've seen. I think I would enjoy knowing Chelsey and the Bush twins.

My very humble opinion is that in light of everything she had to endure during her father's presidential terms, she has grown to be a very graceful, beautiful, young lady and someone her parents can be very proud of.

They all seem like very smart young women...I don't recall the Bush girls having "teenage drinking problems". There were a couple of reports of underage drinking at clubs but these were college kids not teenagers..I suspect many college kids try to have the unauthorized drink now and them.They are now 26 so to label them as having teenage drinking problems is sad...

I think Chelsea used bad judgement with that sarcastic answer but that's just my opinion...she got a lot of media coverage and maybe that's what she wanted...

I thought the Bush girls had a refreshingly normal college experience. I personally have always liked their saucy spunk. You could tell while they were doing it they were laughing at themselves.Ditching the secret service LOL. Good for them.

That remark Chelsea made just shows that while she was brought up to show poise and maturity she is at loss for words when a quick comeback would be useful. I have a feeling if Jenna were asked that type of question she'd have responded with some great "snark".

I think all 3 girls have become lovely young women though.

I don't know anything about Chelsea Clinton other than the obvious - so no opinion on snob/no snob question.
I noticed on the weekend when the news showed the Bush family in Crawford Texas that the population of that town is 105 - I thought it was funny that I have more tenants than that.

Thanks, Mallory. That's the first I'd heard of it. Just out of the loop I guess. :-)

The question was rude and uncalled for. The response was honest and direct.

I'm not toally sure the question was, Monica. The guy was a Clinton supporter, who felt the incident either made her a stronger person and therefore and good candidate, or it made her look weak and therefore hurt her credibility. I don't blame Chelsea for answering the way she did. She cannot have known his reasoning at the time. No one could because he didn't state that part until later when he was interviewed by reporters as to his reason for asking the question.

The Bush twins got some bad press for a few things, but they weren't evil. The press wasn't allowed to report on Chelsea while she was younger. There is no telling what all she did that she should not have, if anything. Al Gore's son was apparently doing drugs and under undesireable things. I don't remember it getting reported in the main stream news.

It's hard to know what any of them are really like.

The question was about whether her mother's credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Chelsea replied that it was "...none of your business."

HUH? Since when is a candidate's credibility not our business?

I think she missed a key opportunity to talk about her mother's strength - but she blew it.

I agree okwriter and what's more...they put her out there to answer questions and I am sure she was coached on how to handle some things she didn't want to talk about...the truth is, she could have handled it way better than she did and she could have come out of the situation looking really good....instead, she made herself a joke.

That is exactly what he said - the student who asked the question. His words almost to the letter.

Still, I can understand she didn't see it that way. She naturally would expect it to be a dig if such a question ever came up. Were he able to preface the question with his reasoning, I don't doubt she would have answered differently. Even if she were briefed by her parents, I can imagine them saying "it is nobody's business." No one would expect this angle and it turning the question into a very legitimate one. I can really understand Chelsea's response given the circumstances, in addition to how she must have felt having lived the entire embarrassment as a young adult in college.

Judy jay - Thank you! Actually I finally saw the pictures when they were posted on cable news. It was a beautiful wedding. The minister has been a minister to the Bushes for many years - and he's an Obama supporter. I love it when politics don't matter!

I am in complete agreement with Okwriter and Ruthie on the question. Their thoughts are exactly as mine were when I first saw the story.
