My cat just turned on my dryer!

I was sitting here at the computer when I heard the dryer start up. Annie had hopped up onto it, and leaned against the dial. Although I had the dial set at Power Off, apparently that's all it needed to start heating and tumbling. Oh, great--something else to worry about while I'm at work!

I put some things in front of it so she shouldn't be able to lean against it now, plus I set it to Air Fluff in case she manages to start it again. But it seems to be that's a poor design on Maytag's part. I'm not the only person with a cat, and I'm thinking a curious child could also start it, if all it takes is slight pressure on the dial.

Maybe I'll write to Maytag (knowing it probably won't do any good).
