Bundt Pumpkin Cake
Comments (29)Thanks, Jim, for a marvelous idea! And here I was proud of myself for making pumpkin muffins to bring to a funeral luncheon yesterday. I was actually "test driving" a pumpkin bread recipe I got on line that I'm planning to make for Thanksgiving. They turned out well. It may have helped that I used my new silicone muffin "tin". (First try with silicone.) But your creation takes the cake!...See MoreRECIPE: Can I save this cake? (pix)
Comments (3)The trifle suggestion is excellent and something I never would have thought of. I must keep a tin of pumpkin on hand as I couldn't find any at the last minute. I'm going to remember the trifle solution for future disaster management. Thank you hulaskirt! The only thing I could do was put a cream cheese icing on the cake, slice the nice portions and arrange them on a plate. I got 7 good slices and avoided embarrassment. The messy bits will be eaten here at home. This cake IS delicious and I'd be happy to share if anyone needs another carrot cake recipe. Comments (11)Beanthere - I ordered three! I got the Charlotte instead of the Classic though. They are so different, I had to have them all. Merry Christmas to me? The descriptions all say 12 cup capacity. And instawares had the lowest prices and free shipping, so I think I got a great deal. $75.41 total. http://www.instawares.com/bundform-charlotte-9-12.kaf-630335.0.7.htm Thank you, Alice! I'm not a big chocolate lover, so Tunnel of Fudge doesn't call out to me, but I found some great recipes at Allrecipes and Recipezaar. I have to bring desserts to work and the bar we shoot pool at a few times a year, plus we have a lot of dinner parties - so these will make it easy! And easy to transport! I usually make crack candy or bourbon balls, this will be so much easier. And I'm going to try a meatloaf in it! Dressing will be so pretty too. Let's see, what else takes to forms........See MoreLOOKING for: Chocolate glaze for a bundt cake
Comments (4)My all time favorite chocolate glaze/frosting is: 1. Melt one stick of unsalted butter in a pan with 1/2 cup hershey cocoa, stir well & turn off heat 2. Add ~2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, tiny pinch of salt, 1 tsp vanilla, and about 3-4 TBSP buttermilk or other milk. Stir well. Give it a few minutes to cool down and thicken up a bit and then pour over cake. This is the frosting recipe for a buttermilk chocolate snack sheet cake I make often, but it makes a great frosting for a bundt cake too....See Morebela67
