Thanks Eco! Our little kitchen update is almost done. We just replaced the laminate countertops with the Crema Bordeaux. We left our cabinets as is. Kept the same (white) appliances, except we replaced the 30" cooktop with a 36". We may, sooner than later, get a counter depth refrigerator. Replaced an extremely ugly overhead florescent light that mimicked the original shape of the radius that was pentagon shaped!! I had picked out SEVERAL backsplash samples that I just loved but, thanks to this forum, I determined that they were too busy to go with the granite. We're going with some Ann Sacks rhomboid mosaics (Durango Classic-diamante gigante). On every 4th(?) tile, our tile guy is going to replace one of those tiles with a tile he cuts from our left over granite. I did find a beautiful backsplash from Sonoma Tilemakers (pillowed field tile with accents), but it was $43 a sf!! EEK! Just not in our budget! I think this tile is $17 a sf. So, I have a neutral color backsplash with an interesting (I hope) shape. Here's the rhomboid mosaic:
