Some pictures I took at the wedding.....

Remember when I posted last year that my nephew and his bride to be asked me to take all there wedding photos? Well I worked and studyed and looked at pics....and took almost 1500 between engagement shots thru to the wedding....here are a couple of the wedding...They were sooo please with them all...made me feel so proud! It's hard work I know. I took pictures for a neice's wedding and also a friend's wedding years ago. That was way before I had a digital camera. I always thought I had did pretty good for a novice... until just now when I saw the amazing photos you took! :-)

Hi Ree. Sorry to hear your Paprika is slow for you as well. Good to know I'm not doing anything wrong, though. Normally I would've done away with a heuch that performs this poorly, but I just can't bring myself to do it on account of the color. It's too bad that it's such a dud growth-wise, though. I seem to have trouble in this way with a lot of the reds. I'm wondering if they don't like the wet here, or if it's that way for everyone around the world and the reds are just poor performers. They always come into the local nurseries looking so red and lush, but after a year in my garden, they just shrink and/or disappear altogether.

DV - Thanks. :) They'll be a constant nightmare (on the "way back there" garden area) as I cheaped out and used fence pickets for the decking. But when money's tight, you do what ya' gotta' do. ;) Big - It's a "floating" deck. Framed in 2x6 (since it was ours, went overboard and did 16" OC). Sits on a ton (not literally, but it felt like it after moving/leveling them) of those deck-blox piers. It will be around (and perfectly level!) long after I'm gone. :) The walkways... well, they're not as imppotant as the deck, and I'm okay with replacing them from time to time. ;) It was fun and very satisfying tying two of my hobbies (gardening / carpentry) together to make something we all can enjoy. :) -John

Thanks, everyone. The lanterns worked out much better than I ever imagined. And so cheap! I already had the LED lights, which is the big cost, of course. Otherwise, everything else is free. I'm going to order two more LED sets, as I think I'll make a few red lanterns for our Fourth of July party, using pictures of Washington, minutemen, the Liberty Bell, etc. No, better make them blue. I think darker frames might work better. Or do you think it doesn't matter? I'll have to experiment with that, I guess. I see a lot of possibilities. Honestly, they DO GLOW!

Dave, the chorus line has left the building and is en route! Holy moly but that is an awe-inspiring sight! I keep looking at the pictures and my brain freezes...but my eyes just can't drink in enough. Anyone starting to get into hostas and looking at these photos would be thunderstruck. To maintain around 500 hostas (potted) is one thing - but to have them all looking like divas is quite the testament to your love and dedication of hosta. 1st picture:. Who is the top-left-of-center one with wide yellow center? 2nd:. Blue cupped one? 3rd is a gorgeous ripple brigade! 5th&6th Love the forefront two together (?) Amalia is a standout. Incredible, Dave. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed my coffee that much more very early this morning with this post. I hope you have a wonderful day today.

Thanks Nicole...No Lydia I am not going into business....even though my sister, nephew and other family members were approached and asked would I hire out...LOL I don't think I am that good!
I will post somemore later....we had such a blast taking the bridal portraits in downtown Beaumont...and then on my sister's farm.....And thanks for the compliment! Stacy

GORGEOUS! Obviously you put a lot of thought into these and they are not like the commercial type photos of weddings that one sees regularly. I think you have a God given talent!

Stacy, those photographs are fabulous! So original and unlike the usual group photos you see at most weddings. I loved the "something blue" shot.

You really have an eye for this. You should consider taking some photography classes. I think you have a lot of talent there.
