I had to go look this up after the reply on the "senseless" thread...

My country tis of thee,

Sweet land of liberty,

Of thee I sing.

Land where my fathers died!

Land of the Pilgrim's pride!

Now I can't get it out of my head. LOL

Another one that I'm sure they don't sing much, which I think is so much easier to sing than The Star Spangled Banner is America The Beautiful. For your "convenience" here are the words, although we really only know the first verse:

We sang both, along with saying the Pledge of Allegiance, in school every morning.

Since I got nosey too, I checked a couple of dissertataions on that subject on the German internet. Nobody seems to know. Several women in Beethoven's circle of friends and family had names which could have been changed to Elise, a very fashionable name at that time, but there is no proof.

Yes I do use Spinosad, carefully, on non flowering crops when needed. I use it on potatoes and brassicas if needed. Just make sure to be careful with bees. So many less this year than normal. I have not seen a single potato beetle or cucumber beetle and the cabbage worms are much less than normal. I sprayed Bt on the brassicas once. I will only do Spinosad on them if the Bt doesn't cut it. But anything with caterpillars gets Bt first.

Oh thanks guys, I'm not even American but now I can't get either song out of my head! The girls in the office thought I was nuts today singing these!
