part of sunlight.. that plants need is UV.. which your windows cut down [low E and double pane.. and interior gases.. etc] ... which basically means your plant is in part shade ... to flower properly ... you need FULL SUN ... especially marigold ... when there is NOT enough sun ... flower production reduces .. or fails altogether .. that fact that yours is as good as it is.. earns you a gold star ... but you cant complain ... its a little off ... there are other.. indoor flowering plants .. that would probably lvoe you sunny spot.. and perform fully to specs ... and yes.. i suggested you plant some in mother earth ... you kinda didnt mention you are in a highrise and earthless.. take care ken

here ae some recentimages of my yard- Ionly had my cameraphoneso I apologiseabout the quality. Hereis my biggest palm... I protected it last year- and it grew back nicely after the severe winter in ABQ. I lost 2 large palms that Iplanted.... so sad- but I think I killed them with my protection method- (wall o water on the crown-( I think the weight of the snow punctured the walls and allowed waterto freeze in the crown due to thethorny nature of washintonias..... Here is a quicj pic of the front yard- It is hard to see in the pic- but the filifera is HUGE- way taller then me! I will addthis- I now have 3 LARGE filiferas in my front yard that survived without protection after 16 inches of snow and 10 degrees- and i think (someone correct me if im wrong) a couple of days below 32.... Pretty impressive. I lost this puppy- so sad! but I really do think filiferas are a way better choice forABQ- then this less hardy Filibusta...Oh I have a filifera that survived in the valley un protectedlast season as well... that suckeris going to get big next year..... Here is my biggest filifera last season... as you can compare with the above pic- it has grown bigger... and has not declined despite the coldtemperatures- It has been in the ground for 3 years orso and i think it is finally becoming well established... I would like to hearof other plants around town... any updates???? Saw it last night and adored it. The performances are wonderful, wonderful. Realistically the movie is maybe not so great - the script is so-so, cliched, mawkish, and cluttered. But oh, those actors! Dench is achingly fantastic, Maggie Smith - what can be said that hasn't already been said? Nighy and Wilkinson don't even seem to be acting, they are so good. I can't wait to see it again. Penelope Wilton gives a glorious nuanced turn - well, you get the idea. Go see it. One thing I absolutely love is the age-appropriate couples. No 65 year old men with 35 year old wives as we see so often in Hollywood. (Not that there is anything wrong with this age difference - it is all in the impression one gets from certain films that older women just don't exist, or count.)

I find it interesting that so many people prefer an airbnb over hotel for vacation. We go to Cape Cod for a week in the summer and we do rent a house there. But that's because we bring the whole family (college age son, daughter, her hubby, their 2 small kids, and sometimes inlaws). Hotel rooms for everyone would be out of the budget. But when it's just hubby and I vacationing, I want a hotel/resort with amenities. I don't want to make my bed, or clean the bathroom, and certainly don't want to cook/cleanup. I want to act like the princess I was meant to be ;-) Decor does matter but I wouldn't rule out a hotel/resort in a good location with great service and amenities solely based on decor. For example, our favorite place in Mexico is an all inclusive resort with a beautiful beach, amazing service, great drinks, decent enough food and it's small and quiet (no pool games, no beach games, no loud groups). The rooms are definitely dated, but they're clean and large and offer wonderful views of the beach and gulf. I wouldn't mind if they updated the decor of the rooms, but I worry they will then raise the prices! It's always a trade off, I guess.
