Sad update on Lindsey

Thank you all for the prayers and special thoughts, but was notified that she passed away last night. The surgery they did on the bleeding in her brain may or may not have worked--have not heard, but the cancer was extremely agressive. I imagine her twin along with her family and close friends are devastated. She was only 22. Just keep the family in your thoughts.

Loss of a parent is one thing, but cleaing out the house is probably the worst. So many memories. And it looks just the way the left it. It's almost as though you're "sneaking". But you aren't. Cry as much as you need to. I'm dealing with a houseful of memories, too. It sucks.

Polly, are you talking about Bradley? I'm devastated. I was following his progress and it seemed that the new spot was nothing to worry about. OMG, how tragic this news is. I had been getting regular blog updates until recently and then they stopped. Could you please pose the link to the family blog once again? Are any donations being accepted for the family?

I do not know why people dump animals on busy highways, I mean dumping a animal at all is horrible, but why do they choose a busy highway? of course there could be other circumstances with this, I have heard of people having car accidents the dog getting out and running off scared, and then going back to where the accident was. we live off of a busy highway and there is always kittens and puppies laying dead on the road sometimes whole litters being dumped there, our community has several homes in it and there are 3 streets but only one way in, I wish they would come in here and dump them in the back, if I can catch the cats (some do use this practice) I take them to my mom's farm, I have taken about 20 so far, but she only has about 10 on hand at any one time as she has a horse and pony buisness and she gives alot of the cats good homes with some of her horse customers, maybe I need to put a sign up, dump your unwanteds at such and such address, of course I know this is not possible as I would have way more then I could handle, but it just makes me so angry! I am sorry you was not able to save the puppy, that is so very sad, add that to the fact that this may of been a unwanted dog that you guys were trying to make a home for, there are other options, put signs up in convience stores and other places saying free dog, ANYTHING! something other then choosing to dump a animal. funny thing is if you have a really nice or pricy dog it could come up stolen, but yet others just get dumped, doesn't make any sense!

This is just so sad.. life is so hard to understand sometimes. This made me think. Why is it that it seem some people are more prone to get this horrible disease than others? It makes you wonder, ya know? Some people go their whole lives with no cancer.. yet, some... get it over and over again. And Alan, being 24.. ?? I feel sooooo bad for him and you.. and all of your family right now. I cannot imagine how he feels. I'm sending lots and lots of prayers and hugs. You have all been on my mind constantly. After hearing how much help the Hospice was for so many people in the posts above, I'm seriously considering calling the Hospice where I live to see about volunteering. I think it's time for me to give back, ya know? I haven't needed medical help, but I've been blessed to be the recipient of alot of other help.. and it's time to return it. Please take care and keep us all informed, k?

I feel sort of awkward responding to this post (since I'm a Lindsey, too) -- but I truly am sorry to hear this sad news.

It was a bit disconcerting for me to see "Sad update on Lindsey" in the list of threads, though...
