Just wanted to say thank you to arandygail for a posting from Sun, Dec 5, 04. We celebrated Christmas late this year and I served this. It tastes great and is very easy to make & bake.

Baked French Toast

12 slices French bread ¾ c. butter

8 eggs 1 1/3 c. brown sugar

2 c. milk 3 T. dark corn syrup

2 tsp. vanilla 1 c chopped nuts

½ tsp. cinnamon

Place bread in a greased 13x9 baking dish. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon; pour over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 min. before baking. Combine butter, brown sugar, and syrup. Spread over bread. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 1 hour. (You may want to cover loosely with foil during the last 15 min. to keep from over browning.) I serve this with maple syrup, but you won't want much. Also, this stays very hot; my dad burns his tongue on it EVERY year.)
