iphone question regarding saving photos

I like to use my iPhone for photos even tho' a camera takes better ones. It's so handy.

Is there a way to move a number of photos at one time from the phone to my pictures on the computer? I usually email to myself the ones I want to save on the computer and then save into pictures, but it takes too much time with a number of photos.

When I sync my phone to my computer, I think my pictures are moved to 'Photos' on the computer automatically. It does ask me if I want to keep them on my phone as well.

Sjerin, when you say sync your phone to computer, do you mean when you charge it? I usually charge my phone in a wall outlet, but I wonder if just plugging it into my iMac would "sync" my photos to my computer.

I think that both choices are very nice. I decided to go with the Basalt Slate, as I liked the texture of the honed countertop and the streaks of lighter gray running through it which looks like veining to me. However, I think the streaks are going to take some getting used to. As I was trying to wipe all the construction dust off the other day, I kept wiping and wiping and finally figured out I was trying to wipe off the light streaks! The Oiled Soapstone is also very pretty. I think it is more uniform in color, mostly black all over, and it has a smooth soft surface. I think your choice will come down to personal preference. Do you want a smooth countertop or one with texture? More uniform color or the appearance of veining? I think both are beautiful. You can't go wrong!

Win 10 and trying to get photos off the IPhone??

Kidzu, of course I tried that. What I get are a thousand little tiny boxes. When I click on them I get one photo that is so small I can't tell if its worth keeping. It won't enlarge. Plus, each photo is in a separate box so it requires clicking on these tiny boxes one at a time. I have over 1000 photos on my phone and many I do not want on my computer. I tried following the directions from Google. I can't tell what is what. When I plug in the phone a screen comes up full of photos with check marks. I can't tell if I'm looking at the phone or explorer. The only heading on the page is 'photo collection.' Over 1200 photos all containing check marks. If I click 'clear' and try to individually check the photos I want, it still imports all the photos. It states that the photos will be saved in a folder under my name. I'll be dammed if I can find them. I've had it with Win 10. This is ridiculous. Before I could copy what I wanted into the folders I wanted. Now I can't tell if I'm looking at the pics on the phone or on Windows. There is no information. I deleted multiple copies of the same photos and they keep reappearing. The system sucks. I simply want to copy manually what I want to copy and save in the folders I choose. Stupid, dumb and typical Microsoft! Thanks, no reply is necessary. Jane

I have a Canon camera with Wifi too. I've never turned it on, it's a capability that's not of value to me. I find photos easy to unload by either using a USB cord (one of the standard sizes, any one works) or from the card, which I swap out anyway and access when removing the battery to charge. I've shared my view before, I think Win 10 is really not different at all from prior versions. It acts the same, it looks the same (since they changed the tile view, though that was always easy to avoid by using one of the simple add-ons like Classic Shell or Power 8). It's maybe a bit better in recovering resources and a bit more stable. Otherwise, very similar to its predecessors.

Syncing doesn't mean charging. You need to open up itunes and sync - this backs everything up.

As for saving photos, it's easy. Just hook your phone up to your computer. No need to load itunes. Your camera will show up under "my computer" as a device like anything else connected to your computer. Open it up, open the folders (there will probably be several of them) and choose the photos you want to copy to your computer. Select them and drag them to a new folder on your computer.

They will remain on your phone! It's impossible to delete them this way, so once you have them copied to your computer you can delete them from your phone if you want to free up some space for more pics.

If you have iCloud, your pictures should automatically go to your computer. Sign up for it. Turn it on in your phone and on your computer.

for some odd reason my iCloud isn't working and I can't figure out why...... So when I plug my phone into my computer, I go to "my computer" find my iphone, open the file then copy and paste all my pictures to a file I named "iphone pictures".

I can't even tell you the number of times I've seen a parent (usually a Mom) pick up their kids from school and be talking on the phone before the car leaves the parking lot. What ever happened to talking to the kids??? Sad.

When I plug my iPhone cord into the back of the monitor the pictures get placed into iPhoto. Very fast and easy-all at once. You have the option of deleting them from your phone at that time (I keep them) and you can just import the new ones each time after that.
