Can't get my pattern gauge correct
Comments (4)Is the pattern done in rows or by inches? If done in inches then go with the needle that gives you the closest 9 sc= 2" and then figure out guage from there. If done by rows then find the needle that gives you the closest 10 rows = 4" and figure out how many stitches for 2" and add the additional stitches to make it work. This assumes that there is NO major pattern work involved....See MoreWhy can't the thermostat be in the bedroom (AC)?
Comments (5)Thanks for the reply tigerdunes. Here's my rationale: Night - bedrooms are same size and doors are closed. So the thermostat in the room should work well to reach comfortable temp in there. Day - door of master wide open and equivalent temp to hallway so should be able to get good temps throughout house. If anything, the supply is a bit bigger for the master as we are planning an addition (master bath/closet) in 1-2 years and he was accounting for that. Still stuck on why the recommendation is always to put in hallway when most people want ideal temp in their bedroom at night...See MoreWHY can't they center the light over the island?
Comments (14)You're not being too picky. Don't leave their sides until they get it right. My husband and I went round and round about our dining room light. He thought it should be centered in the room. I designed the house and KNOW that the light was being installed over the table. No matter how much I explained and showed him on paper, he truly did not understand nor 'could see' in his mind's eye what the end result would be. He is just truly challenged visualizing some things. Lighting placement was one of the issues we struggled with building this house. And our electrician struggled with viusalization, too. It was horrid. How he could install lighting for a new home was beyond my patience. I had to stay with the electrician constantly. If I was not around, he would ask my DH a question, who never gave the correct answer....See MoreWhy can't people.........
Comments (37)When my oldest DD was in high school I was driving her and her best friend someplace. They were just talking a mile a minute with every third word being 'like'. I started talking to them in long rambling sentences ~ You know like when every other like word is like it's like so like annoying, like you know what I mean. It's like really like hard to like keep like your like attention on like what you're like talking about, you know what I mean? I just kept rambling on and they were giggling and said they would "try" to stop saying it so much but it was such a habit it would be hard. LOL The use of the F word is horrible and it is so common now that it seems like it is everywhere, especially in movies. Once when I had a young teen boy walking with two girls behind me at a mall the boy kept saying the F word. The girls were telling him to stop saying it ~ I think because they were so close behind me. I turned around and asked the boy, "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" The girls said, see, I told you. The boy got embarrassed and upset saying, "Don't talk about my mother". I replied, "Well, she must not have done a very good job raising you with that filthy mouth". He said he didn't talk like that around her but I told him that people would think she was not a good mother. He was really embarrassed. Another word that irrates me is eXpecially. There is NO X in that word! Especially...See More- 16 years ago
