I missed that it was a T2 which does have the 2" up pipe inside but it's still undersized for your pool, IMHO. The discharge port is in the way of the cover removal tool on the Super II with 2" plumbing. I don't like needing a special tool for the cover. I just love how manufacturers play games with impeller sizes and"Standard vs Energy Efficient"(Hayward) or "Standard vs Up-Rated" (Pentair). Same motors. Different impellers. There's a reason over 3 million Super Pumps have been put in service. Simple to work on, fairly reliable as induction motor pumps go, and easy to use and cheap. Please understand, I prefer Pentair/Sta-Rite products. But thats not to say I won't suggest what I think is right with other vendors gear. Scott

This is going to be a pretty pool I noticed a few things that may warrant some considerations. A Clean & Clear Plus 520 square foot cartridge filter is better in arid locations. You won't blow off water backwashing and it is a better match to the pump's capabilities. The sheers and lams don't need an Intelliflow. Too much pump and since these are infrequently used, that's a lot of money! A single speed will do quite nicely, properly valved and extra returns in the pool to take any overflow unless the sheers are four foot wide each. They should have their own filter too unless the suction outlets are in the wall where they can't pick up debris on the bottom. Make sure the autocover has all high grade stainless hardware. Often, they come with galvanized. Does that include a spool cover that can accommodate matching coping. This is how the service crews get to the cover's mechanicals. Is the spool to be above or below ground? Are the cover's tracks under or over the deck? How long is the fabric warrantied for? The Texas sun is powerful and it's UV rays will have an effect on the vinyl's life expectancy. Find out what the current cost is to replace the fabric and ask what the cost was five years ago. That may help you to estimate what the cost will be when the fabric does need replacing down the road. Pricing Diamond Brite with Pebble is the same? Here in NJ, there is a significant delta in pricing. While I like the negative edge look of a spa entirely in the pool, in this case, it seems like wasted space near the two walls. It also makes for a long reach to a spa-side controller, something I highly recommend. The iS-10 control will allow you to turn on the spa, raise and lower the pump speed and temperature, and turn on your your lights and water features. These controls, I should note, are water resistant, not water proof and should not be submerged but rather deck mounted. Why only five spa returns? An eight foot spa can easily accommodate eight and the IntelliFlo can certainly drive them with enough pressure. I would also expect the cover to rub on the other two edges when it opens and close. Auto covers depend on the water for support. They aren't drawn tight like a spring loaded safety cover. This will create a lot of additional wear on both the edge material and the cover material. The only one that will lose in that situation is you since the cover and the edge repair costs will likely come out of your pocket Scott

dont believe all of the negative things you read about anthony sylvan pools because they just aint true. they just finished my pool/spa in spring. the pool is nearly perfect. we had bids from several builders including cody pools, houston pool builders, platinum pools and precision pools. cody and platinum were by far the worst. they didnt seem to care if they sold you a pool or not and just offerd to build a basic pool. our salesman phil at a and s was outstanding and had the best pool design. the quality of work from the contractors was outstanding and right on schedule. they told us we could go pick out our own pallet of coping which we did but the coping crew didnt know about it and brought out the wrong pallet. they had even started to cut some of the pieces. within minutes of finding out the crew returned with the pallet we picked out no questions asked. now that is good customer service! period. also our cool deck color wasnt applied quite evenly and didnt look right. the construction supervisor noticed it and he said we will fix that right away. they addressed everything quickly. i was concerned at first about the stories i read on the internet about a and s but now i know for a fact that you cant believe everything you read. actually there are complaints about just about every pool builder out there not just a and s. i dont think people really realize just how involved building an inground pool really is. there is bound to be a couple of things happen along the way. this has been a very positive experience and i would recommend anthony sylvan pools to anyone.

The pool seemed to be at a stand still while a lot of underwhelming stuff went on. After the hand seeded deck went in, it was a couple of days and the lawn sprinkler guys came in to redo the back yard. Or should I say what bit we have left that is grass :) That was on a Saturday. The following Tuesday (last) the clean up guys came in. The removed all the junk soil lying around (big balls of dry clay), all the debris (wood forms, chipped rock pieces, etc., and put in top soil. We were slated to be plastered on Friday. However, Thursday night, Mother Nature, gave us a much needed soaking. No plaster Friday, as the forcast called for rain off and on. Forcasted all weekend. PB scheduler tells us we are first on the schedule for Monday AM, around 7:00, barring weather. Plus, the access that has been used us super muddy, especially with the new top soil. I guess I should be used to the surprise show ups, but alas, we are caught off guard once again. On the east side of our yard/house, we have put up our temporary redneck fence of goat wire and T posts as a yard for our bird dog, Deacon. Our bedroom windows are in the fenced area. Access to the pool is on the other (west) side of the yard. At 6:20 AM Saturday morning, and thankfully Deacon has an inbred soft mouth, Deacon is going M-A-D. It is not a normal "Im after the squirrel on the fence" bark. It is one where you wake from a deep sleep but still cobwebs present, and know things arent right. Hubby and I both bolt upright in bed and then we hear the foreign language chatter and I suppose the "Oh Hell" in Spanish. So Dave runs out. Its the plaster guys. Once the fog clears from our heads, we are excited. The guys waste no time in starting up the circular saw to cut off various PVC pipes, thus letting the whole neighborhood in on our morning! By 11:00, we are filling the pool! YEAH! Acid wash the deck on Monday along with pool school to learn how to run it all. Getting ready Cleaning up The first Glob goes on. We went with old fashion (classic) white plaster. While we looked into a colored plaster, we had a budget we really were wanting to keep to (all cash) and we had to pick and choose where we wanted to spend the money. The boys really thought the blow torch? Was cool. Finally, filling with water that is not from a gully washer! 11:00 AM Saturday 3:00 PM Saturday 7:30 ish PM Saturday 7:00 AM Sunday We still have a lot of work that we need to do ourselves, like a dry creek area where we have two serious drainage areas, grass, fan for the arbor, and finishing the grill island, as soon as the cultured stone arrives, and plants. I am sure that other projects will creep.
