Question of the day 6/25/09

Some years ago I made a lap quilt for a neighbor who had befriended us when we first moved to the area. She never used it and told me she it was too nice to use and it might get dirty or full of cat/dog hairs. I explained that it was ok to use it and wash it. About a month later I found out that she had given the quilt to her niece. Her niece probably admired it and being the kind of person my neighbor was, 'regifting' the quilt was a good thing to do.

If someone else had done this, I think it would bother me a bit but not in this case. She was one of the kindest people I've ever met and I think she felt more comfortable giving than receiving.

Has something like this ever happened to you? How did it make you feel?
