Amazing Race..amazing for sure.

I loved that the sisters won. They deserved it. They never won a leg of the race but did it when it mattered. They seem sweet, grounded with a love for each other and their mother. Mallory was on my last nerve, and Globetrotters already have a lot of money. Go GirlPower!! Can't wait till the next AR. Anyone know when that is?

When the cowboys went home, I didn't really have a favorite anymore. If it hadn't been for the 'dance', I think Zev and Justin would have given the sisters a real run for the money. I felt sorry for them with all that hair during the waxing.

Next AR will probably be late September.

Oh My Goodness, what a great ending to a great race! It could have been any of the final 4 teams and I would have been happy.

The waxing! Oh My! All that hair and pain! Zev & Justin were the best at that, I laughed out loud! And the drinks! 100 of them! Watching that made my shoulders hurt!

I was surprised that the Globetrotters did not do better on the bridge. I guess they are not in such good shape after all.

Zev & Justin did so well and were in it, without question...until that dance. I felt sorry for both of them but they never gave up and never found fault with eachother. I liked them and was sorry to see them go.

Mallory was a pain. She did a good job with the underwater stuff and in the trailer park but I'll bet that cab driver was about to drive off a cliff with her in the back seat!

The Sisters were a good team, did not give up and were able to 'hold it' together until the end. Whew...

This was a great season and I'm ready for the next one to start! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

I'm not as generous as Amber is. So you've been with DH eight yrs? This child was two. He's ten now. BUT EVERYBODY is to fault/blame for the way this child has been raised/cared for. Mom dumped him. Bad BM. Grandma raised him then on. Bad Gma. Dad travels while all while this goes on. Good Dad? Surely during these last eight yrs you witnessed and/or knew every bit of this child's upbringing, caretaking, and possible ADHD. So, where was the concern and intervention from Dad while all this was going on? What exactly did you think was going to change and be different after you said 'I do'? Anyway...take the child to his dr and discuss the bed wetting. There is actually 'help' in this department. Second, who diagnoised the child with ADHD and what is his treatment plan? Is there one? How did the child get to the 4th grade if no one but now YOU was working with this child and his school education/ studying skills? What is being done for this child during his school hours as far as his classroom setting and teachers? For the record, I'll add not every ADD/ADHD child has a speck of trouble with grades and/or fuctioning in the school setting. Depends on many factors. My own child has ADHD and no one would notice if they had not been informed nor has my child ever recieved a grade lower than a B-plus (twice since kindergarden and child is now in 7th grade)...matter of fact she has always made the A honor roll except for the one semester where it was A/B honor roll. I don't spend hours doing her homework. Never have, never will. She was taught early on in self discipline in 'shutting off distractions'. It gets OLD to me to hear someone assume ADD/ADHD is a terrible handicap and especially when it's followed by hearing a parent use it as a crutch to make excuses. Just my little lecture from my band wagon for the day. There may be much more going on with this child then ADHD and I suggest someone (DAD) finally take the time to have this child properly eval'd and diagnoised. Child may have ADHD on stop of other physical/mental things going on. It's a lot to deal with for a child to be dumped from upbringer to upbringer, home to home...this is kid's at least third upbringer and home in like five yrs (Bm's, to Gma's to now you) Now back to your issue. Again, have DH set up appointments to get a complete review of exactly what's going on. Has the child seen a therapist for his bouncy childhood? You also stated Dh can't 'parent' his own child without basically a step by step guideline instruction book. here's a thought, your husband himself may be an adult ADD/ADHD person himself. Or is it husband would just prefer to continue to let other's raise and worry about his own child? You realize, right, that when you've had enough of trying and trying all by yourself and failed...because YOU CAN NOT DO THIS ALL BY YOURSELF NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY NOR WHAT YOU ACTUALLY TRY... that your current situation will end (and end poorly for you). Husband will be off to find caregiver #4 to do his parenting duties. He has not parented this child in ten yrs. If you have a child yourself with this man, do you actually expect him to suddenly stand-up and be a proper parent to yet another child?

I really like these Aloes:). I have a hard time growing them. I've had mine for 3 years. The first year it grew like crazy. I first planted it into an awkward shallow rectangular pot. So I thought this is an easy plant and growing fast! So I repotted into a more normal type pot. It's 2 years later. I swear that Aloe has NOT grown:(. I will admit looking back the more normal pot was probably too big of a jump. Plus I placed the Aloe in a forgetful spot in my yard. So most likely I wasn't paying as much attention to it. Last week I repotted my Fan Aloe into a smaller pot. Along with placing the pot into my line of sight;). Hopefully with these changes I will get some growth eventually. I was thinking I should repot it into that awkward rectangular pot;)? I think it's too big for that pot now. I also think that pot doesn't promote healthy roots. Just sharing with you my experience. Oh ya, my A. plicatilis can not get enough water. I swear there's sponges in those leaves:). Goodluck:).

Lavenderlace and Ben, Thanks for your input! I shovel pruned Savannah because of its flat blooms. I couldn't stomach looking at it after a while. The flower color washed out to dead common beige, too. It also was touchy concerning winter hardiness...never came back strong enough in the spring to make much progress. I had great expectations concerning Belinda's Dream; planted four of them some years ago. In my garden it never got more than 14" tall growth by seasons end; dying to the ground every winter even with protection! They've been gone a while now. So much for her Earth Kind designation, as far as my garden conditions go. BTW, Carefree Beauty black spotted here with the best of them. The several I had great hopes for are gone long ago. Every garden is different. The factors that make or break a rose around here are typical of the North East: hot, humid summers; cold, rose killing winters, and heavy, clay soil. In addition, I garden about 80 miles south of the snow belt. The insulating benefits of snow cover as well as freezing and thawing, come and go all winter here, creating havoc. My USDA designation as zone 6b does not take into account the hit or miss snow cover, and unpredictable freeze/thaws. Zone 6 plants, perennials in particular, freeze and thaw all winter, and rot out by spring. It's more like a zone 5 here. Butterfly Bush, Buddleia, is a shaky bet to grow here. The dwarfs rot out in their first winter. Any fragrance type a rose has, and as powerful as possible is my war cry. The mix of every conceivable scent in the garden which wafts over to me seated in my favorite garden chair is what I covet. I like them all. Amazing Grace's scent will suit me just fine. I'll put down some Azomite mineral on AG. That ought to keep her blooms plump when vased up. Moses

I was not so much concerned with who won but that the Globetrotters did NOT win. Karma did step in and I sure was glad to see it.
The cowboys were the only ones I was rooting for.

would have loved to see the cb brothers win...gosh you guys don't remember how unkind the sisters were in the first appearence??? think they cleaned up their act for this one...

besides you don't know waht the globetrotters MIGHT have done with the cash..btw they don't get the same big bucks as nba players....

after the cowboys left, I was kind of rooting for Mallory and her Dad. But I'm good with the girls winning. Yea!

The dancing for the boys really put them behind.
The BAD TAXI driver for Dad and Mallory REALLY put them behind.

seems like at the last stage of the race there is ALWAYS a
bad taxi driver... doesn't know where something is... I swear! lol without the dancing and the bad taxi driver,
it would have been a REALLY tense ending!

they didn't do any memories of the race, you know like
having to put the legs of the race in the right order.
Don't they usually do that?

Well with a final four of cheaters I am glad the sisters won. They played the game well and I like the way they actually worked together. Perfect team had tehy not ben part of the shared answer brigade.

I'm so glad lady karma stepped in and took out Zeb and Justin for being the catalysts in all the answer giving. It's mean (I know) but all I thought of during the hair yanking was "that's what happens to cheats". LOL

Mallory reminds me more and more of an organ grinder's monkey with all her hopping around and squealing. However did she win a beauty pageant? I like her dad but sheesh the girl is manic.Glad they didn't win.

Nothing against the Globetrotters really except for the answer sharing but they have their fame already. I enjoyed watching them.

May give up on TAR unless they change some rules next season. Helping is one thing but not having to complete tasks on your own is another.

More thoughts.

Kudos to the sister for taking swimming lessons to prepare this time. I never understood why someone would come to the race not knowing how to swim or drive a stick or read a map.

The selling swimsuits on a beach idea was so ridiculous. Even more silly was that a supposedly smart team choose to do it. Two strange guys walking around a beach trying to convince people who are already wearing bikinis to strip in a small tent they promise to hold and model for them. Right. Especially two guys with weird patches of missing hair. With cameras following them. Ok Then to pay for the "honor". LOL The only possible team to pull that one off might have been the monkey and her dad if time hadn't been such an issue. The monkey could have demonstrated the technique of stripping in the little tent and popping out to model and squeal.
