I have had both Ink Spots and Black Baccara for many years now. IS is a better plant while BB is a better flower; however, after a few years, BB will catch up to IS (if grafted). You should try and go back to the nursery for an exchange if cut flowers for the vase is your thing. Even if not, I've had BB blossoms last on the bush for three weeks, the blooms take forever to unfurl and keep their exhibition shape for two weeks. Unfortunately, there's no fragrance, and I have a good sniffer. Whichever you decide to keep, the flowers are less likely to burn if planted in a location with morning sun and bright light, but shaded from hot afternoon sun.

I grow this beautiful selection in the neutral ground in front of my home, as a tribute to Lynn Lowery, who I knew and bought many plants from beginning in 1975. Very care free, profuse blooming, after every rain, with different and stunning light periwinkle blue flowers. Slow, steady, open growth in filtered light under oak trees. I also grow them in pots in full sun in my atrium. Wonderful plants.

Yes, Chloe is a Tibbie! I'm always so surprised when someone else recognizes the breed. As for a Tibbie's nature, they're flat-out perfect. I'm serious, once you have a Tibetan Spaniel, you'll never want another breed of small dog. All of us Tibbie owners say the same thing. My Chloe; she needed to be brushed in this pic! * Mellow? After the first minute or so when they meet someone new , they are the most mellow small dogs I've ever seen . . . anywhere; Very calm. * Tempermental? Not on your life! They are such sweet cuddlebugs. they don't have a tempermental bone in their bodies. * Noisy/Barky? Nope, these are not hyper dogs and they hardly ever bark. I'm serious about this, they're very quiet dogs. * Friendly? It's said that a Tibbie never forgets a friend . . . or an enemy. Chloe's 4 y/o and has never made an enemy, so I can't vouch for that one, but she's very friendly to people we invite in our house. She's gentle with DD and her friends and actually sleeps in Emily's bed with her. And they're not nippy dogs; we've never been bitten or nipped by Chloe and neither has anyone else. Tibbies get along well with other dogs, but I've heard that it's suggested that a female Tibbie be the only female dog in the home. I could be wrong about that one, though. If they're raised together from puppyhood I don't think there would be a problem. Chloe was raised like that with our male (neutered) dobie, and they were best buddies . . . although Chloe was the alpha dog: Turk weighed 81 pounds/ Chloe weighes 11 pounds . . . go figure! Turk died right before Thanksgiving and we've recently adopted a 3 y/o male dobie from the local doberman rescue. Ronin and Chloe get along great . . . and she's still the alpha dog! * Sturdy: Tibbies are sturdy little dogs. Mine loves to go on hikes with us and is no slouch about longer hikes. * Their coat/Fur: Have you ever felt alpaca yarn or an alpaca sweater? Remember how incredibly soft it was? Even softer that cashmere. Tibbie's fur is that soft! Once you've felt one, you'll know why they're so beloved by the Tibetan monks as lap dogs . . . and recently, the rest of the world, too! I've never felt a softer fur. * Tibbies are wash & wear dogs! Wash them in your sink; towel dry them and they're good to go! They NEVER need to go to a groomers as long as you can cut their nails yourselves. BTW, hairdryers don't seem to scare Tibbies, although they love to run around in a warm house and air dry. Negatives: * at 10-12 pounds, Tibbies need to be house dogs. They look like fat, short-eared rabbits to any hawk, eagle, owl or coyote and because of this, they need to be outside ONLY when you're with them! * Tibbies shed: they need to be brushed weekly If you're serious about getting a Tibbie of your own, please, please, please only buy one from a reputable Tibetan Spaniel breeder. If you want to check on a breeder, our friend ~ the breeder who we got Chloe from~ Ruth Davis, is one of the top breeders in the West. Please check out her site for more info on Tibbies . Ruth is such a well-respected and dedicated breeder that I know she'll be more than happy to answer any questions you might have and find you a good reputable breeder close to your home, if you like. Here's her website link, where you can find lots more info on Tibbies and a lot of great pics, as well. "Royal D Kennels" Let me know if you have any more questions. Lynn Chloe again:

Another lawsuit. This probably requires a subscription, so I’ll summarize: a woman who had been searching for the treasure is suing Fenn basically because she didn’t find it first. It’s not fair, someone else got there first.
