Buying a new range -- GE Monogram or European?

Peter Cohn

Buying a new range. We know we want a 36" 5 or 6 burner, probably dual fuel. Wolf and Viking are more than we really want to spend. The GE Monogram seems like a good range, and there is currently a promotion if you buy the range and the hood. The Bertazoni is a very nice looking range, but the stove seems to be a bit small. The Kenmore Elite gets good reviews on CR, and the Kenmore hoods also get good reviews. There are a few other European makes. I worry about repair for the Bertazoni and others, whereas GE should be comparatively easy to get fixed. There's a snob factor that doesn't want to buy from Sears. What would you stove mavens recommend in the $2000-$6000 range?
