Not finishing a chore before finding something else to be done and completely forgetting the first one.

Losing my grocery list IN the grocery store! I have it when I walk in, and somehow misplace it, then ALWAYS ALWAYS find it when loading the groceries into my car! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr......

Being one of the world's great procrastinators when it comes to doing stuff that can be put off--like cleaning closets or even windows! They're not REALLY that dirty LOL

Thinking I'm not out of shape and can hike around a mountain without being in pain the next day. What the heck was I thinking?! I also messed up today, which was supposed to be spent planting my garden and pulling weeds. It's finally dry and hot and I'm too sore to walk, let alone plant flowers & tomatoes and pull weeds. I'm also sick with a virus of some kind. Have no idea how I picked that up since none of the kids are sick.

It irritates me that I'm not a morning person.

I'd love to be one of those people who jump out of bed at the crack of dawn...but that's just not me. LOL

Kathyg in mi, Good post! We really should look inward first, instead of looking at others, to gripe about. I wish I wasn't such a cry baby. I cry when I'm happy, sad, at commercials, and especially when Im angry. Also, I wish I was a bit more confrontational.

Procrastination here, too. Being retired is no help, either. I think I inherited it, as my mother used to say, "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?"

Can't stand how all I talk about is music. Can't stand how I will stay up late watching stupid tv then be tired all day. I lose my keys. I sometimes snap at my kids. I have floppy arms. I fart too much. I forget birthdays. But for the most part Im pretty ok.

I came from a family where parents sat watched tv while us 5 kids cleaned.So I got married I kept a clean ,beautiful house.
My kids were not gonna be ashamed to bring thier friends over.Well now my health isnt goodI still want everything done I use to and cant..I expect way too much out of myself.go,go,go..I cant..

Forgetting that I can't multi-task. Every time I try, I mess up BOTH jobs.

Not being able to lose weight. I know what to do I just don't....

I'll probably be a work in progress forever. My most recent blog post is a diary entry from 1979, in which I wrote, ".....in my constant efforts to change my ways....." I saw that last night and thought, I'm still at it!

Over the years I've made significant progress in my two biggest issues--weight loss and clutter--so I'm not too hard on myself these days. I do share Soxxxx's distractability, but some days I managed to force myself to stick to the job at hand (and some days I don't). I wish I could focus on two kinds of creative endeavors at once, but if I'm in photographer mode I don't write, and if I'm designing a piece of rug hooking I don't write either. With my closeup vision impaired at the moment, I haven't picked up my camera or hooking.........so why am I not turning out pages and pages of writing? Maybe I should have checked "procrastinator," too. LOL

Not being able to race around the house like I used to.
What used to take 15 minutes now takes me close to an hour.
I don't know where they got this "Golden Age" from.

Not getting about a dozen and a half things done in the house that are crying out for attention.

But I did put a brace into a tall chest of drawers today that I picked up on the roadside and has been sitting in the back porch for about 6 mos. It's one of those pressed wood pieces that break so easily and all that it needed was a board of real wood to hold the frame together so that the 5 large drawers would roll (the pair at the top were the only ones that worked).

Had to borrow a thin drill from the landlord's shop to drill pilot holes for the screws that I bought just before the weekend.

What a shame to throw out such a useful piece, that a small amount of effort of the right kind would fix.

Now ... to clear a path through the clutter to get it to its new home.

Me? I'm an avoider and procrastinator. It's such a terrible habit that I can even just escape in my head and an hour later I haven't gotten anything done!!! Did pretty good yesterday and today with Ron home to keep me motivated! Our youngest son is graduating in a few weeks and we'll have about 200 people here at his open house!!! I notice I'm especially bad if it's cloudy outside.

I used to leave shopping lists at home too until I found out that my phone has an area for notes. I use this area to make my shopping lists and jot down important appointments. I list the items by the store type. The cellular phone is always with me. It's been working quite well. You may want to give this a try if your phone has this feature.

If I started I would get too sad, weight, smoking, children, life......it is all in my mind, so it is all on me. Can't seem to get started.

I'm one that don't normally judge others by their skin color or where they came from. I once made this mistake. I was at a flea market and was bargaining an item with the seller. Once we came in agreement of the price, I noticed the seller was waiting for the payment as I was waiting for her to hand me the item purchased.

When asked, the seller said that she did not received the money. I argued that I had given her the money already. I asked her to check in the cash register. She insisted that she didn't received it. I looked in my wallet and purse and didn't see the cash neither.

The seller was of Indian (as in India) background. My sister, who had a businees, always warned me of how stingy Indians are. Remembering this, I immediately assumed this seller was conning me. I was getting angrier and didn't know what else to do. Seconds had gone by but felt like eternity. I lifted my purse and handed it to the seller to prove that no money were in there. Then, I spotted what seemed familiar, a $50 and $10 bills, on my lap (I'm in a wheelchair). I was at my utmost embarrassed and could only apologized to her again and again.

I was angry, very angry at myself for days. I was angry for letting myself assuming that all Indians are the same and for being so rude at this lady. I would never allow me to be rude to anyone for that matter. On that day and moment, I was everything that I was against: discrimination, judgemental and rude. I hated myself for days and vowed never to be that type of person again.

I'm with Amy on the weight loss issue.

One thing that really irritates me is my addictive personality. I don't smoke, drink, or take drugs. BUT, when I develop an interest in something, I eat, drink and breathe that thing! It's all I can talk about and I know I'm doing it, but somehow, I just can't stop myself. Over the years I've had this issue with knitting, then acrylic nails (then gel nails), then plate collecting, audiobooks, vegetable gardening, the internet, and more. Moderation is beyond me, which is probably why I have weight issues too.
