Looking for picture of Mother and child

I would like a picture to use as a redwork pattern of mother and child or even child and older sister brushing her hair. I want to do this for my older sister who was very gentle with me as a child.

I have been searching the net but haven't found one even though it sounds like a picture I should be able to find. A coloring book would work very well. I have found a couple of pictures but don't know if I could do it justice trying to do an outline.

I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me finding one. I'd gladly pay for an appropriate pattern.

Beautiful pictures, ya'll! I'm so jealous. I ordered a JC from homedepot.com the other week, received it, and was getting ready to plant it this weekend when my best friend, who wants to try rose growing, visited and asked for one of my roses. GASP!! I took her to two garden centers to buy her a rose, but they only had a few beaten-up roses left and I didn't want half-dead roses to be her introduction to rose growing. I wasn't ABOUT to dig up one of my planted roses, but I wanted to give her one that she would fall in love with, so I gave her my ready-to-plant JC. BOO-HOO-HOO. It was so hard to let my JC go, but I know she isn't far and is in good hands. Plus, since this is my best friend, I've told her that when I visit, if JC isn't doing well, I'm digging her up and bringing JC back home with me. :o) Thanks, again for the pics and the timely post. I'm gonna forward this link to my BFF to show her what a special, lovely rose she has in her possession.

If you can't find a job nearby, maybe you should let your son spend some time with his mother. Especially if you are gone all week. Since he's been living with you for the past 8 years, I'm sure his mother misses him and would love to spend some time with him as well. Plus, it's not like you can't have him visit, maybe even every other weekend. He's probably a bit put off by you remarrying, even if he says he's not. He may just be craving time with his real mom. How old is he anyways? If he is a teenager, they tend to change their minds quite often! Maybe you could set something up where he spends this school year there, and then comes back to your house next summer. By then you may have found a more suitable job that would give you more time. As long as his mother is responsible, caring, and can support him, I would let him try it out. You never know, it may not be everything he thinks it's going to be, and will want to come back...Good Luck!

Firemans wife, I wish you all the best. I am really debating on whether or not to make a web page with all this crap that's gone on for 7yrs now. See, I wasn't in the picture in 1995 when the kids were removed and my spouse was very lax about the CS thing. When I came in the picture in 1999 and they started taking out money AGAIN from his check (they'd stop and start CS over and over) we went to the office and he signed an affidavit so I could have access to his case. It wasn't until then that things started getting done. I like to think that if I had been around in 1995 this wouldn't have gone on for so long...but the fact remains that they (attorney general) had access to any and all court documents that were issued out of Montgomery county. They've had this all along but didn't bother to look into it. His file is literally 6inches thick. The attorney that represented the state of texas didn't even bother to crack the folder. Each time we went to court (4 times since Jan) there was a different attorney. I hope everything goes well for you but be prepared for anything to happen. We thought it was all over and done with...then the judge gave his ruling. I was suprised to say the least and so angry that when I got home I called all the newspapers and television stations. I've received 4 phone calls back from different different news stations that want to do investigative work. Oh...did I mention that I taped conversations when we went into the AG's office? Yup, got them talking in circles...saying one thing and doing another. We're still debating on whether or not to go with the television stations. I'm to the point where I'm so exhausted of living in the middle of all that mess and I really shouldn't even be posting about it because it just gets me all worked up again. The more I think about it, the more I think I'll scan our court documents and transcribe the recordings, make a web page and be done with it...that way it'll be out of my system for good and I can tell the entire world at one time without having to go back into that 'mode' I was in for so long when we were dealing with these incompetent morons.

It's entirely possible that the child asked him mom to do that for fun, (I read dad's explanation,) but if that was the case she showed poor judgment in agreeing to do it. It did look to me like he may have bonked his head on the corner. It also didn't look like she was in the least bit angry.

You might check www.istock.com too -- I could not find any of someone brushing another's hair, but found some mother's holding children -- a couple were outlines.

I googled coloring book pictures of girls and of course didn't find what I was hoping for but if you google
sarah kay coloring pictures there are some girls that may work for the red work but you may have to grab a copy machine and tape together several pictures to make one. Not knowing how old you want you and your sister to be?? there were pics of girls in the 70's as teens on another site that would be fun but they look more like sisters than a mother and child. I would keep googling color book images of... and hopefully you will stumble on the right one. I will keep looking for you. Deanna

I googled color book images of mother and child and found one in a pre-school collection of a mom and child reading that would have some simple lines in it. good luck. deanna

Thank you all very much. I have found several that are so sweet. Vicky, the Sues are so cute. My sister is 11 years older than me. She got married when I was only 6 and she was 17. My clearest memories are probably when I was about 5 so she would have been 16. I have found a picture that I am going to try to outline with a few changes and do in redwork. If it works I'll post. I just knew there would be redwork somewhere with this subject. I'd be glad for any suggestions.

One last note. I found a picture and altered it to fit my purpose. I did red work and made a pillow. I just finished taping it up to mail and realized I had not taken a picture of it. Sorry. I do still have a outline of what I did for red work. I think my sister will be pleased;I hope so.

Thanks to all who made suggestions; it gave me courage to continue when I couldn't find exactally what I needed.

I am trying to put the outline drawing I did from a picture I found on the net.
I put a skirt on the "big sister", made the chair a straight chair, and added facial features-all simplistic.

I think she will at least like the memory.
