I looked on the color charts for matches. Why don't you just have Valspar do a match for you?

I didn't realize that Lowe's can do color matching. This entire time I've been searching for paint samples. Is it possible that not all Lowe's store do this?

I don't know one that doesn't. They may even have it in their computer.

Can you tell me how did you got the color matching? Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it!

Just about every paint store can color match.

They (HD & Lowes) have all the brand paint colors in their system. From my experience, the colors never come out the same, close, but no cigar. If an exact match isnt crutial, then its not a big deal. Someone posted a question earlier about which paint do you like or think is the best. I stick with SW only because I love their colors and I want it exact.

parma42, I must be having a bad Monday because I went to the color chart website but can't figure out how you came up with the matches. It's a great resource so I appreciate your help.

Sometimes SW isn't even exact. After buy 20 tester quarts I decided to use Blonde for my kitchen and some other area. My granite has a lot of rusts in it and I liked that Blonde read a little rusty/gold. I had the painter use Cashmere and the result was not like I tested. The formula on the Cashmere was totally different and when I called them they said it was because of the different base.

I even took some of the paint from my samle quart and put it next to the cashmere out of the gallon and they were different. Paint guy said it was a "better" color as it was more subtle. Only problem was it wasn't what I had thought I was getting. Even asked Funcolors about it and she said it was probably just the way they explained it at SW.

The red they add for Cashmere is maroon and for the cheaper paint is called new red.

Still a nice color but???

Laura Ashley Gold 3 is an almost spot on match for SW Blonde. My kitchen is LA gold 3 and we are in the paint picking stages of painting our great room. I brought home some samples from there and then realized how similiar those two colors are.

I have Laura Ashley Gold 4 so I will pick up Gold 3 and see how it looks in my room. It's amazing how color changes as soon as you hang the sample on the wall!

I like LA Gold 3 also. SW had it in their computer so I got a quart of that, too. (told you I had 20 quarts)

From my test quarts,

LA Gold 3, 8 (32s) of raw umber, 1 (64s) magenta, 25 (32s)
deep gold.

SW Blonde, 8 (32s) and 1 (128) of raw umber, 1 (64s) of
new red, 20 (32s) and 1 (128) of deep gold.

Hmmm.... I don't know if it matches SW Blonde, but my creamy yellow paint is Lowe's American Tradition (Valspar) "Churchhill Hotel Hazy Yellow." It's very pretty!!
