Painting a bathroom accessory that is part metal part plastic

I have chrome plated accessories in a bathroom. They are corroded in a few spots. It appears that they are partly actual metal and partly plastic that has been plated.

I would like to paint them in an oil rubbed bronze color. I expect that they will be replaced soon but I am not ready to renovate this bathroom and canÂt commit at this time to a style or color scheme. I picked ORB mostly because I know that "metallic" paints donÂt look like real metal. I have ORB hardware in other rooms that is a flat dark non-metallic brown, so figure that is an easy choice. In this bathroom other door and cabinet hardware is brushed nickel and antiqued brass, but I donÂt think I can duplicate those metallic finishes with a spray (unless something exists that I am not aware of) .

I assume first that I will sand them down with a fine wet-or-dry sandpaper. After that, what spray paint will work? I have seen others on these forums spray brass chandeliers, but donÂt know what kind of paint is suitable.

Thanks!
