Can Tropical Plants Survive An Indoor Pool Environment?
Comments (7)just like some people have allergies that range from mild to severe, and some people aren't really affected at all, some plants are more tolerant of certain stimuli and some are not. in general, the more common houseplants are about as tolerant of anything you may choose to expose them to as anything. Some of the palms should also present little problem. I know from experience that ficus roots that grow into a 2% hydrogen peroxide bleach (little strange to see white roots an inch or so thick) but otherwise the plant shows no effect, at up to 15 years exposure. depending on the chemicals used and concentration in atmosphere, in addition to plant selection, there may be a difference in performance over the long term. Do you by any chance know how much light we're talking about? I've seen indoor pools almost as light as a greenhouse, and I've seen pools that have almost no light. Any choice re: plant selection has to factor in available light or use of full spectrum lighting. it's almost a little odd, but I actually don't (or can't find relatively easily) a culture list that would be for a pool area....See Morefilling in an indoor pool
Comments (7)Don't know where you live, and I'm assuming that you want your pool to be removed. Here's a link to Dave Frisch who removed my outdoor pool. He did a great job. We're in Southern California. Seems like an indoor pool removal would have the same requirements as an outdoor one. There may or may not be more to it than just filling it with dirt. Check your state contractor license board online. You can find pool demo companies there, along with their license info, complaints, work injuries, etc. Linda Here is a link that might be useful: Pool Removal Website...See MoreLooking for advice on indoor pool filter and pump
Comments (7)Late to the party here but holy cow do you ever need to invest in some isolation valves. Every single line should have a ball valve on it and you would be silly to install a system like this below grade without them. While I certainly like to save money wherever possible there is a flow problem with this setup that a secondary pump would resolve. The amount of flow that the floor cleaning system needs is appreciable and the way your system is set up you have a huge flow restriction with the ozone venturi directly in front of the auto-cleaner valve. The floor cleaner will underperform and your pump wil have to work its but off to supply the water. Since you did ask a specific question which I have not answered here yet, but a variable speed pump and match it to a suitably sized cartridge filter. You have a very nice, high end pool installation and this is the equipment you would expect to see on a pool like this....See MoreHow does one change lightbulbs in ceiling over the indoor pool?
