I've haven't noticed any increases since I've just brought my first replacement blade within the last 6 months or so. One blade cost me about 6 bucks plus postage (from Joann's)!
I think someone here posted a link to LP Sharp's Rotary Cutter Page (link below) and I think that is where I'll shop for my next rotary blade purchase. They have new generic blades (45mm) 10 for $25. (And I don't see any shipping charges to add!) Quite a price difference from the single blade price at Joann's!
I believe there were good reviews for them or I wouldn't have bookmarked them. :)

I will check it out. I have gotten them from Hancock of Paducah before and I know I never paid that much. I will going there at the end of the month and hope to find some.

I definitely have had my jaw drop open over rotary blade prices in stores -- even at Walmart their about $5 a blade.

I seem to go through them pretty fast too -- one blade definitely does not last me more than the cutting of one quilt top, if that. If I could make a blade last 6 months I might just suck it up, but at the rate I go through them they are definitely an expensive part of the hobby!

I bid for them on e-bay, and got 35 Fiskar blades for $50, and 75 Olfa blades for $70. Much better deals than at JoAnn's.

LPSharp will take any used blades in exchange for new one. Good way to keep them out of the landfill. I have always gotten OLFA from them and we know they are GOOD!
