You could make one of those pillows designed to go around a nursing mothers waist to support baby on, then it can double as a support for baby to sit up in, or lean across. DGD is nearly 2 and still uses hers to lay on while having a story read to her. You could also make the covers for them. Covers to put in the cart at the store (keeps baby safe from everything from germs to rough edges). When my kids were small I was given a "cover" to hold baby up in the high chair, it was shaped like a big T with long ties on the bottom end, they came up between the legs and tied at the back of the chair. (when kids got older I used it to "tie them in" big people chairs when we'd go some place with no high chair available. Hobby Lobby is having a sale on Simplicity Patterns this week, 99 cents each, got several ideas in the book at WM, off to Hobby Lobby today, apparently WM no longer matches prices. Have fun! Ellie

Buy larger size, one family I nannied she got alot of sleepers,etc. that her youngest son got at her baby shower and we kept changing him so he would actually wear and one was really long and yet when we said lets try it his toes are at the end and couldn't wear them long, they grow fast. What is really nice buy toddler clothes if you know if its a boy or girl. The baby equipement and such are extremely high prices, the car seats alone now a days are huge and like $300 and up and strollers and highchairs, all those things now. The best for parents to do is buy second high, join toy library where they sign for toys for however long its agreed and return it so kids get different toys. Instead buy books, that is so needed, read and be with the child in learning stage but enjoying it. I agree don't buy mobiles or things that parents decorate their babies rooms.

Yah, I have given wallets that i filled with gift cards too-- not sure what i would use for a housewarming gift. I did find some inexpensive new home journals/maintenance record books.. most of the info I'd expect them to keep online/on the cloud.. but really, I am only looking for a vehicle for gift cars so it could work for the purpose. Same with a photo album-- they're all fully online/cloud. Will keep looking for popup cards and for books/photo albums. (along with baby gifts-- we'll soon have a virtual baby shower for nephew and his wife!) Thanks all!
