Saturday~~What are your plans for today and for the weekend? I'm going to Long Island,NY in a little while

to pick up my 4 yr grandson Connor....having a sleep over

at grandma's tonight will bring him back tomorrow some time. Maybe we will go to see Shrek.

Woke up & sprinkler valve was stuck. Had a zone on all night. Gonna replace that today. 70mph winds aaaaaaaaaaaall night and today....no hiking(can't get good photos). Going shopping! :0)

It's raining today, so I'm going to do some laundry, cooking, and tidying up the house. Tomorrow and Monday I will work on the garden.

BFF and I spent another day working at my Mother's house. BFF was tearing out the closet shelves which will be replaced with wire shelves. I was using the steamer on the windows. They are sliders and there was so much dirt and gunk in the tracks they would barely open. It was time consuming but I got them all done except one in the living room. I can't get to that one because I have so much stuff piled in front of it. Got a charity picking it up next week. I used the steamer in the bathroom on the wall and floor tiles except in the tub. That's for another day. I also washed the walls in the laundry closet. Gross!! What a mess. Finally decided to stop for the day and go buy some new doors for the bedroom closets. DH will have to pick them up in the truck tomorrow. When I got home I bathed all three dogs and then I finally got a shower and dinner. I'm worn out now. Linda

Not feeling like doing much today...was up off and on all night with a tummy bug. Never the less,DH and I did finish painting the family room...well DH painted and I kind of cleaned up after him. My cousin dropped by for a coffee and we started talking about past Christmases and ended up laughing and crying. After she left I took a long hot bath hoping I'd feel better...Not happening!!! Have friends dropping by for a tea and chat after dinner. Supper will be a romaine salad with poached chicken breast,and whatever I can think of to throw in. Sure hope I feel more perky tomorrow as we plan on going for a drive and maybe drop in on old friends we haven't seen for awhile.

Sorry to hear about that Sharon and Donna. Donna I had a relative that was bleeding internally and losing a significant amount of blood, and they determined he had gall-bladder poisoning, unfortunately they did not catch it in time though. I hope they can figure out what is causing your SIL to lose blood. I spent part of this afternoon trying to get a good layout plan for my son's MineCraft quilt. It's gonna' be a twin size and I have never made a quilt that size before. I am also slowly making some quilted Christmas ball ornaments for my Mom's Christmas present - I have finished 2 and would like to make her 4 more, though I have not decided yet if I want to do 3 pairs of 2 with each pair being a unique color combo or just do them all with the same fabric so they all match.? I am contemplating cutting some fabric and making 2.5" jelly roll strips, that way I could use them for making quilted ball Christmas ornaments and scrappy quilts and bindings. I am thinking about getting a yard and a half of flannel and making a small temporary design wall above and behind my sewing desk (we have paneling in my sewing room right now, but later on want to put dry wall up and paint. How much does flannel usually cost per yard and would it be cheaper to just wait till this fall and get a twin flat flannel sheet at dollar store or kmart? - would love some suggestion on this. My kitchen remodel was absolutely designed around how I cook & how we use the kitchen. Three things I wanted were: 1. Lots of natural light - I cook from-scratch meals almost every day and spend a lot of time here. In addition to prep/cooking, this is where most casual entertaining happens, where I fold laundry, work on the computer, and where DH & I eat most meals. I used to have one small window and we looked at walls of upper cabinet boxes (depressing). We eliminated many uppers, added storage in the island, put the range in the corner so that this is now what I see when I'm working there. 2. Induction range - I also chose my stove for how I cook. I prefer the look of a pro-style gas stove but chose induction because the perfect stovetop temp control works best for my style of cooking. I don't do wok or high sear frying, but for 9 months of the year you'll likely see a pot on my stovetop. I do lots of stocks, soups, stews & chowders. Induction was made for simmering! Here's the pot of chicken stock I have going on this rainy day. 3. Big stone (no prep sink) island -I chose to have a big, uninterrupted island top that, in addition to being our preferred everyday eating spot, also works as a serving table for buffets (has the plugs for crockpots/warming trays). It also allows for a number of people to work around it with room to spare. Like when the grands come over for the annual Christmas cookie bake ;) There are SO many elements I just love in other kitchens posted here but some just wouldn't have worked as well for me. I've used this kitchen for almost a year now, though, and still appreciate it every day. Great thread to get people in the planning stages to really consider their priorities for use over just looks. GS has 3 ballgames, 9, 3, and 5. Missed the 9. Was catching up on my lost zzzz's for the week.

Early this morning I met some friends in town. My son and the twins came too. There were 5 bus loads of wounded soldiers and their families that came through town on their way to Port Oconner for a weekend of fishing and relaxing. Many people in town lined up and down the highway in town. Most people were waving flags. The buses were lead by a police car and lots of motorcycles. The people on the buses were waving and some were video taping us. It was lots of fun. Then my friends and I went to the cafÃ© for breakfast. After that I went to watch the twins play t-ball.

At noon I'll go to the 'end of the season' BBQ for the Little League. Then I don't know what I'll do.

My plan was to stay home, but I need to go pick up some horse feed, cat food, food donated for the possums, and then I hope to rush back home again. I will probably grab a bite to eat while I'm out, so I won't have to cook anything.

My plans now are to go fix some food for tomorrow's cookout. I will just use whatever I have on hand and we will have plenty. Still no sun out here.

I am going to a high school graduation "open house" for a friend whose twins are graduating. 3 sets of twins in the class of 435. Beside that I will start repairing the baby quilt I was almost finished with when Jake, my dog, thought it was a toy.

Nothing...LOL we are in our second weekend of not having to travel...that ends next weekend when we will go home and then make a run to Edmond...to take Syd furniture and stuff I have bought for her apt. She is working so figure me B and the boys will do that then we can go eat at TGIF's and make her be our waitress.....Stacy

Got hubby up early (6:30) so he could get my hair dyed. We'd talked about it last nite, so he knew he had to get up early to do it.
Met with a client at 10am. Raining today, so we're home for the day. Sorted some worms out to give to a friend.

Tomorrow we're going to my parents to plant their flowerbeds and stay for a barbecue. Step-father is hesitant about planting them so "early". He likes to wait till June 1. But the weather this year has been warm early, so he's reluctantly okay with us planting this weekend.

Going ATVing with friends. Was gonna load and go but staying around the area as it looks like it could rain. Around home, we know where to go to get out of the rain. Tommorrow I have a graduation party and then hope to do some planting of flowers and maybe gardent. We shall see. Depends on the weather. Wasn't supposed to rain today but that could change, at least it looks like rain.

DH had to work overtime again, so he was up and out of the house by 6AM. I followed on his heels and went treasure-hunting. Had more success than I expected and found some good stuff. Spent the rest of the day so far organizing the house. Waiting for the Flyers game at 3--GO FLYERS. DH will probably catch the last 2 periods when he comes home, then we'll take off for the house in the country. We'll have a late dinner when we get there.

Well, I had plans to visit a GW friend's garden with some other friends, but my employee decided he didn't want to waste his time opening the shop today. I went to work. DH is recovering from his second knee surgery so he couldn't go. Didn't see a soul but that wasn't the point.
I'm going to play in the garden tomorrow.

DD #2 came over around 10 this morning and we made a sandwich cake to take to a memorial at our local eatery. Took us almost 2 hours to put it all together. We took it up and delivered it before everyone showed up. So we had a drink and and a food treat while we were there. After we left we stopped at the local Thrift store and bought a few things, and then stopped at a garage sale on our way home.
Really fun to spend the day with my DD. It has been a while since I have seen her, and we always have so much fun when we are together!

A fun day, and now just down time until supper.
