Word Pad questions

This should be so simple, but I cannot figure out how to change it. There is double spacing between the lines of something I typed on Word Pad and I cannot figure out how to make it single lines. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

I don't know. I use WP as a memo and copy and paste the tuff to a WORD doc later maybe if you do that you can change the spaces or better yet ask the computer forum
Let us know if you find out I'd like to know how also

With "Word", there's a heading dealing with page composition, or something like that, sorry that I can't remember the exact title, that allows one to choose the spacing between lines - sometimes the default here is 1.15.

With "Word" (Office) there's a heading "Paragraph" and one of the boxes in that section has a series of lines, with "up" and "down" arrows on the left.

Thanks Owbist. Have been all over the Win 7 wallpaper, downloaded several of them from the internet. Put my personal pictures on there, too. Think this is my favorite part of all.I had bookmarked the Sevenforums when I first got it, but have not had time to go back and study it. There is so much to learn and while I don't post often, I read the Computer Forum daily. Everything I know has been learned on this forum.

Followup: What I have found and probly my last post on this trivial problem. This is bottom on my list of things to worry about. Tops on my list of things to mess with It's totally crazy. If the CN 12pt underline fails and I open ANY window and slide it over the top of Wordpad the underline functions for that word. If I adjust the size of the Wordpad window the underline functions. My guess is the switch is stuck and needs a jolt of electricity. I tried a loud stream of the filthiest possible vituperation which didn't solve it but did cause my wife to turn up the TV volume, the dog to crawl under the couch and the cat made it to the top of the refrigerator in a single bound. :-)

Like Alisande says you can play as much or as little as you desire. The nice thing is you can mull over a turn for as long as you want without the other person knowing you just can't put a word together. They just think you are at work or something, lol. Not like scrabble where people are biting at the bit for their turn. That's why I said scrabble was boring in that one post, Alisande, because you do have to sit there and wait and if you are playing with a slower player the time gets really long. I do disagree on going to the dictionary, though. I hope I'm not cheating, but I go to the scrabble words lists online with the q, z, and j words to see if there is a word I can play. There's a lot of weird words I never knew existed. Zein, Qi, Za, corf. I've learned many words I didn't know before. And a lot of times I will just put combinations of letters in not sure if it's a word, and once in a while you get a shocker. That's how I discovered corf was a word (for a triple/triple score). If it's not a word the game will tell you and then you just push OK and recall your letters.

Thanks OJ. Mine is back to single space line now, but I don't have a clue why it is or why it ever changed to double space to start with.

Don't recall using Wordpad since about Windows98 but if my feeble old memory serves correctly the shortcuts are the same as for Word. Highlight what you want to change (if you want to do the whole document, press Ctrl + A) and press Ctrl + 1 for single space, Ctrl + 2 for double space and Ctrl + 5 for space and a half.

With AbiWord and OpenOffice both being free, I always recommend going with one or both of them over Wordpad. Lots more features and free.
