Miele DW authorized installer and warrantee questions
Comments (8)Ok, so far some things in this thread are not true. I spoke with Miele about this two months ago before I got my Diamante. The 4 year extended warranty on the Miele dishwasher is $249, not $150. (Where did you get a $150 price from?) http://www.mieleusa.com/miele_care/miele_care_indepth.asp?nav=400&snav=490&tnav=492&oT=230&benefit=88&page=2&menu_id=30 If you have a non-Miele-Authorized installer do the work, you then get the 1 year standard warranty. Within that 1 year (12 months) you can then decide to buy the Miele 4 year extended at $249, but after the 12th month it can not be purchased. If you have a Miele-Authorized installer do the work, you get the 1 year standard warranty + an extra 1 year courtesy warranty (for a total of 2 years coverage). But here's the thing....you can still buy the 4 year extended warranty ($249) but it has to be purchased by the 12th month (not by the 24th month like someone else said). That means that during the 13th-24th month, both the courtesy warranty and extended warranty run together. My delivery and installation using a Miele authorized installer was $149, which means I get the 2nd year of courtesy coverage. I have within the first 12 months to decide if I want to buy the 4 year extended warranty. If I do, that means the 2nd year (13-24th month) it is covered by the courtesy warranty and extended warranty. But then on the 25th month (and for 3 years) it is covered by the extended warranty. So in this case, I'd really be spending $249 for 3 years of extra coverage, since I'd have 1 year standard and 1 year courtesy. Hopefully you were able to understand this. If not, call Miele and have them explain it, since you can ask them questions directly....See MoreWarning about Kitchenaid Warrantee Service
Comments (4)As a warranty servicer, all that is required by someone to obtain service, is a receipt or closing statement (in the case of new home construction) giving the date of purchase/delivery and/or install. In this instance, the message states there was an earlier purchase of the same water dispenser. If the company has records of that, then all that was necessary was that Nerdyshopper provide the model & serial from the unit in question. Again, it would seem that bit of information would have confirmed which unit was still under warranty....See MoreBlueStar cooktop - what's a warrantee worth?
Comments (9)Let me introduce myself. My name is Pete Bloodgood the National Service Director for Bluestar (Prizer-Painter). I invite you to contact me at my office 800-449-8691 so we can discuss your situation. We here at Bluestar take pride in producing a quality product and are invested in the care of our customers. Effective 8/1/07 Bluestar has taken the administration of our warranty in house. Primarily to better understand any issues with our product, secondly to allow us to set up a national service network to better serve our customers. While it is true that we may not have all areas covered this is simply due to that fact that we are a specialized product that is not mass produced. It is also due to the fact that most appliance service companies are small owner/technician operations and they usually like to work within a 20 mile radius; catering to the mass produced market to ensure their bottom line. We counter this by offering a premium rate for their services. Being a professional style unit, the burners may need some fine tuning by the installer once the connection has been completed. This is clearly explained in the manual as other posters above have stated. The Bluestar range is in itself designed with simplicity in mind. We do not have electronic control boards that often fail and our installation set us is very easy to perform. Many customers do these themselves since IT IS so easy and the process is clearly outlined in our manual. While we are in the throws of transition here at Bluestar the efforts we put forth every day are becoming more and more apparent and our aim is to build a support system to better aid us in serving our customers. Anyone who is interested in obtaining a Bluestar product and is concerned with service is invited to contact me at the number above or via our website www.bluestarcooking.com. If we do not have a servicer in your area we will begin a search to secure one. The great thing about a Bluestar is the simplicity of our design; making it a very service friendly unit. To all of our loyal customers we thank you for your support and to all to come we offer this pledge. We will strive everyday to serve your needs to the best of our abilities and we promise to ensure the continued production of a quality product for your cooking pleasure. Thanks again and from all of us here at Bluestar (Prizer-Painter) have a Happy Thanksgiving....See MoreOT If my granny were alive she'd have called the priest to our home
Comments (11)Nik, you have indeed had your share of trials as a family. You have my sincere condolences for your mother's passing and I hope you are able to share many happy memories of the time she was here with you. I'm sure Kalliope is glad to have your support in her own medical issues as you are to have hers, and that is a gift to be cherished however the various tests come out. Vertigo is a considerably disorienting condition and an issue that may need monitoring if it can't be fully resolved, but it's good to have the information to work with, and as in your case to know it isn't yet more serious than it already is. You know your grandmother may be onto something when you have more than a dozen doctors (and vets) on speed dial. When the doctor starts rubbing his hands in glee when you walk in the room, however - that might be when you consider the priest. For now, I think you need to cut more roses to bring in the house to counteract those "bad vibes". We're happy to be praying on behalf of both of you, and thinking warm thoughts of health and peace for you as well. Cynthia...See Moredeegw
