I really hated The 40 Year Old Virgin. Thought it could have been much better if they'd left out the "f" word so much. It turns me off to hear so much profanity in movies when much of it is just there for shock value.

A movie that disturbed me and has haunted me for years would have to be Sybil. I saw that movie at least 25 years ago and I was astonished how cruel her mother was to her. Still can't get it out of my head. Makes me more understanding to people though....you never know what they had to endure while growing up. So that's on the disturbing list but not worthless list.

I can't wait to hear others views on worthless movies. I'm sure I'll be going....Yep, Yep, me too. LOL

not movie, but 24, the other night..omg the abject violence when "jack" was torturing someone..it was very graphic..i usually watch something else, and dh said it was quite common in the series..thanks be i have more sense...

I agree about the F-bomb...I watched Hangover on the plane...I laughed my butt off...then I watched it a couple of nights ago on HBO...OMG...it was awful because of the f-bomb...

Hi Lydia *waving back!* I liked The Proposal too. Betty White just made that movie and Sandra Bullock is too cute to not like. LOL I'd rather see a chick flick than something very intense. We saw The Kingdom and I was so tense throughout the whole movie, I was actually sore the next day!

I didn't like The Bridges of Madison County....loved the book but the movie didn't translate well to the screen, and Clint Eastwood just wasn't what I pictured as Francesca's soul mate. Ick.

What was that Kevin Costner big dollar flop movie where they were surrounded by water but always looked so dirty? Waterworld? Couldn't watch much of that one.

Anything made by Quentin Tarantino. We tried to watch Inglorious Basterds, gave it up. I am not queasy, do not flinch at other Nazi-type movies, but he's just weird about violence.

No Country for Old Men

"American Crime"...those of you who grew up in Indiana might recall the Sylvia Likens murder in Indy in 1966 and it's based on that...I was 11 years old the day the Indianpolis Star was delivered and I'll never forget it...i read it before Mom got the paper away from me...I know it's been years and yeah I watched it...thank goodness they left lots of stuff out and after watching it I don't know why I did and was sooo depressed afterwards...

Sin City. Actually, I wasted only about 30 minutes on it before I decided I absolutely could not finish it. And I adore some of the actors in it. But I just hated the direction. Sometimes I love Quentin Tarantino's films, and sometimes I just hate them.

Actually I didn't waste any time because I REFUSE to watch them. But they classify as mentally and emotionally disturbing. Makes me sick, and they are a sad part of a psycho's reality. Yuck. Turining my stomach.

I heard in "Eyes Wide Shut" that Tom and Nicole needed help with the love scenes...just sayin...Stanley Kubrick was right on out there for strange movies just like Tarantino...

Yes, "No Country For Old Men". Altho it was a good movie and I couldn't stop watching until I saw the ending, I was on edge the whole time. I still can't watch it again.

I am probably in the minority, but I HATED Avatar. Went with high expectations and disliked it after only watching a few mins. I would have walked out, but Hub sort of liked it, so we sat through the entire more than 2.5 hours, yuck.

I hate horror movies! Hate them! My sister talked me into watching "Shutter" with her. It still gives me the creeps thinking about it. Also, "Very Bad Things" was horrible. It makes me sick to my stomach to even think about that movie.

The movie where the guy was from Khazikstan (or somewhere like that), and I think he was in America doing something. Cannot even remember the name, but I thought it was crass and stupid. Of course, my sons thought it was hilarious. They have no taste. They also like the Three Stooges.

We had Avatar on here, but I stopped watching. Couldn't see what the big deal was besides the awesome graphics.
There aren't too many movies around that are just simply entertaining.
I don't want to go to the movies and come out all upset.

socks...that would be BORAT...and I hated it too...hubster and the kids loved it...but then they love Three Stooges and Marx Brothers and I've only just tolerated them over the years...I did like him in Taledega Nights though...he played a gay guy and was a riot!

Also didn't care for the musical "Moulin Rouge", although I did like the old movie with Jose Ferrer by the same name.

Heartland with Kathy Bates. Friend of mine and I went to see it and it was so depressing and when you thought that their lives could get no worse....guess what? They did!

I started laughing hysterically during eyes wide shut and I got the whole theatre laughing. What a ridiculous movie.

I netflixed a movie called the Girl Next Door, thinking it was a light comedy. Wrong!! It was the most horrific movie about a girl who gets slowly abused to death by her step mother and step brothers. The neighbor kids all knew about it but were scared to tell. It was a true story, happened in the fifties. Horrible. I dreamt about that one.

Borat was the only movie we ever walked out on...I forgot about that one. The Manager of the theater happened to be there when we were leaving and gave us two free tickets to come back and see another show. I thought that was nice of him since it wasn't his fault.

we went to FANTASIA A DISNEY MOVIE and asked for our money back. I dont want to pay money to see dancing flowers. Another one for us was DEATHRACE 2000 that was about a car race across the US and you got points to see how many people you could kill and you got more points if it was a really horrible killing.

I hated the "Last House on the Left". My friends all said it was not violent at all. I'd hate to see a movie that they do think of as violent.

Deathrace 2000? Wasn't here an older movie titled Deathrace? It had the same plot anyway, didn't know they remade it.

Also watched Avatar on the On Demand cable channel last week. I thought I was watching Dances With Wolves meets Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire meets The Matrix! ha. Stunning graphics I agree, but not so new story or message. My friend said it was awesome in 3D.

DEATHRACE 2000 WAS IN THE 70S. It made such an impression on us we never forgot it.

Avatar was OK, but it was no Titanic as far as realism. I still can't believe I spent $11 to see Avatar at a matinee. The special effects were good, plot was crappy. I expected more.
Another one I hated was The Road to Perdition (sp?) I saw it at a yard sale and the lady selling it and I agreed that it was one totally awful movie.

bengardening, I didn't realize it was titled Deathrace 2000 but that makes sense since it was suppose to be in the future. Duh. They used to show it on TV once in awhile but haven't seen it in a long time. Who was the lead actor in that movie, I keep thinking it was Peter Fonda.

Oh I just thought of some other movies: anything with Will Ferrell! and his new one Land of The Lost was horrible, why I thought it would be any different I don't know. Wasted $3.99 to watch it On Demand -turned it off after only 30min. Now it's showing on the HBO channels for free.

I agree with the swearing...movies would be so much better without it.

'Death Race 2000' was released in 1975. 'Death Race' was released in 2007. That can be confusing I know.
