Last night was horrible. I thought of the 12 that only 2 were good. The african american guy and the girl with (awful) reddish color hair. Don't want to offend anyone but her hair looks terrible...but she has a great voice. Not too many people can sing anything by Heart. I did think the welder was pretty good. SamKaren your resident DJ

on the american idol website there is alot os discussion surrounding the country music issue and it sounds like they don't feel adam broke any of the rules because they weren't asked to sing country music...it was grand ole opry night and they were to sing the music of people who were members of the grand old opry- and that is what they are saying he did. They also reminded me that on beatles week last year that one girl did a country version of 8 days a week i think it was... so other contestants have definitely done it too, so that is up for discussion as well. I don't understand why the judges sometimes have such a hard time with a different version of a song. For instance the hawaiian guys version of somewhere over the rainbow is way different that the original version but i think is even better and people love it!! I know alot of people vote week by week by who did good or bad, but for me it definitely is an overall thing....if they are good enough to become an american idol and i would buy their records, i would definitely keep voting for them till the end even if they had a bad night... if someone kind of sucks but they do one really awesome song, i wouldn't vote for them just because of that. I think it is so interesting, i never thought carrie underwood was exceptionally good on idol, and if you go to youtube and watch her idol performances, they really were nothing spectacular, but now i think she sounds incredible, and look where she has gotten!! if she had been voted off early because she had a bad song one night(which she did) just think of what we may have missed out on!!! can't wait to see what happens tonight!! I think it will be megan, lil, or the oil rigger guy going home

Always remember, the show does what they want--the votes mean nothing more than a general opinion poll (there's a disclaimer to that fact at the end of the show, as a matter of fact). I've watched the show since the beginning, and it's obvious that often they stick someone popular, who the producers like in the bottom three, just to create a 'buzz'. It is Fox, after all--just take it for what it is--pure entertainment, NOT a show where YOU are actually picking the winner. Note, I'm not saying the votes are totally unimportant--the producers use them to find out who the public likes, but they learned early on about picking a winner who is difficult to work with--they won't let anyone win who isn't going to toe the contractual line. Paul--Love him, but he's not there to win, just to promote his band. He's pretty much said that--so there's no way, the show is going to waste the top spot on him. Although, he does have one of the most interesting and unique voices I've heard in a long time. He'll go far--he's already gotten what he entered for--name recognition. Pia is so talented, but she's vastly over-trained (she went to the performing arts high school, as you know)--to the point where she is all technical perfection and NO personality. It's annoying, sometimes to watch her sing, with her practiced hand gestures. Nothing natural about her. Don't think she's got a shot. I do like Scotty--his voice is so mature for a child, and he's finding a way to stay true to his roots and talent week after week. Don't think he'll win, but he'll be around for a lot longer. Casey's wonderful, but with his health problems, he hasn't a shot of winning--the producers aren't going to pin the responsibility of heading months worth of concerts on someone who may miss half of them for health reasons. And he hasn't been growing the past few weeks. Having a mental block here--the kid with tourette's? He's great--even though he's a rocker, he actually has a very, very good singing voice. Haley? There's a part of me that doesn't want to like her, and yet, I almost always find myself fascinated by her performances. She's definitely a unique specimen, isn't she? Lauren is okay. Good voice, but just a little too immature in a lot of ways for this year. It's a little sad that they opened the tryouts up to 15 year olds, because most of them simply aren't seasoned enough. At least the ones they found. Don't care for Jacob's off-key singing. Antonio annoys me--all he went through after being the victim of a drunk driver, then to be picked up for a DUI the next year? I really hope he doesn't win, for that reason alone (and he's not up with some of the others.

Can't figure out the problem with Lil. She has a strong voice, but I don't think she has the range. Maybe that's why she continues to miss notes a lot. She should have gone a long time ago. I like her - a lot, but not for Idol. She may make a good background singer, maybe even for a heavy hitter singer or group. But she just doesn't seem to be able to make it solo. Anoop - some days he's up; some days, down. There are too many good ones left to keep him. He'll go far, if he looses the overconfidence. Not sure what will happen because it is getting pretty tight. I don't like the group this year as much for showmanship, as I have past groups. They seem flat to me with group songs and activities - sort of not-ready-for prime-time. Individually, I think some of them do have it though.
